Thank you so much for sticking to our coverage. I hope you loved every bit of it. It's time tome to sign off now, Arijit Kundu this side, alongside co-commentators, Arjun Bhalla and Rahul Krishh. Stay tuned for other matches occurring globally.
Player of the match: Mitch Santner for his all-round performance.
Mitch Santner|PLayer of the match: "I think it was pretty filthy at the start. He bowled well and batted well too. Yeah, I'm not sure why. But it did hold a lot in the 2nd innings. Tough bowling performance. Joe and Ish picking the crucial wickets in the middle, getting us to where we are now. Yeah, Jeet is a very instinctive captain. Whenever he made a change, it worked well. Throughout the campaign, each one of them chipped in at different times. Jeesh, thank you very much."
In reply, the Kings started off pretty decent for the first few overs of the mandate powerplay as they were 38-2 after four overs. Tom Latham was the first one to depart when Tim Southee cannoned his timbers over with a brilliant yorker. Soon, the wickets kept on tumbling on regular occasions and none of the batters could settle against the spinners in the middle overs. Walker, Sodhi, and Santner wreaked havoc in the middle and lower-middle order of the Canterbury Knights and they were put down to 104-8 after 13 overs. This followed a quick cameo of 44 runs of 22 deliveries from Matt Henry and later he was done by a straight yorker from Tim Southee in the 17th over.
Earlier in the game, the Canterbury Kings won the toss and opted to chase first. The Knights got an early blow in the second over of the powerplay and it was Tim Seifert who was done by Shipley.
Karene Clarke was the man who looked really good from the start and gleamed throughout his innings of 71 off 34 deliveries. He did get short support from the other end with very less contributions from Jeet Raval and Colin De Grandhomme. They were 77-3 after 8 overs and the runrate always seemed to be over 9.0.
Following this, Santner joined the party of smacking the cricket ball with Karene Clarke. Both of them glued 50 more runs for the fourth wicket partnership and the opener was departed by part-timer Daryl Mitchell. Mitch Santner continued the assault from one end with support from Henry Cooper and propelled the score to 217-5 after 20 overs. Courtesy to a miraculous innings from Santner who amused 92 runs from 40 deliveries and hit 9 sixes and 4 boundaries.
Arijit: 217 runs on the board are always more than enough in the finals of any tournament, and today was no different. Congratulations to Northern Braves for a massive win by 56 runs in the finals of SuperSmash-2021-22. They are the champions and have outplayed the opposition in every department today and are certainly the deserving champions.

The Kings were nowhere near the run-chase at any point in the game and lost wickets in clusters throughout the innings. Southee has been brilliant with the new ball and in clearing the tail lately.
18.5 T Southee to E Nuttall
W Cramps Nuttall with a daunting line aimed for the helmet. Short of a length ball on the middle and off-stump line. The batter is forced to take Southee on with a pull. Nuttall pulls it off the meat of the blade but straight into the huge palms of the man at deep mid wicket. That would the final nail in the coffin for Canterbury Kings!!! Northern Knights get the last man as they get crowned the champions of this year's Super Smash!!
18.4 T Southee to T Astle
1 Pins a yorker on the leg stump. Astle somehow digs it out with a clip past mid wicket for a single ff the sweeper.
18.3 T Southee to E Nuttall
1 Full on the off, Nuttall works to mid wicket for a run across.
18.2 T Southee to E Nuttall
0 Pulls his length back and rolls the fingers over it. Nuttall swings for the leg side but misses in the thin air.
18.1 T Southee to T Astle
1 Full straight on the woods. Astle hammers back to Southee who gets it on his fingertips, before the ball rolls in the leg side. And they scalp a run.
Rahul : Some lusty blows from Nuttall in this over. But not enough as we can only take entertainment out of it. Canterbury Need out of the box 60 runs from 12 balls.

17.6 A Verma to E Nuttall
6 Nuttall shuffles in the offside of the ball and then aims for the stars. Full, straight and pace on ball. Nuttall slogs it across the line and dispatches a maximum over deep mid wicket.
17.5 A Verma to T Astle
0 Goes wide of the crease. Bowls at a good length at a similar line. Pace off ball and Nuttall misses.
150 up for Kings in the 18th over.
17.4 A Verma to T Astle
4 Nuttall gets another delivery well outside off. A full ball outside off, the batter sits on his knees and then slogs it well over mid-off and beyond for a boundary.
17.3 A Verma to T Astle
0 Nuttall swings his arms but misses this good length, outside off ball.
