Thank you so much for sticking to our coverage. We hope you've liked every bit of it. Its time to switch to the other games, the BBL and LPI(sometime from now). Singing off, Arijit Kundu alongside my fellow commentator, Anurag Singh.
Tom Bruce | Losing skipper: "I think they bowled very well. We should have been chasing 140 not 170. It was too many for us and just no one got going. That happens in cricket. It’s just a matter of having the same confidence and moving on to the next game"
Cole McConchie(Player of the match): "It was tricky and lost a couple of wickets early on. Mitchell Hay really played well and was fantastic on his debut. Yeah, it was a great win and I think that we were above par in the 1st innings." The bowling effort was great today. Districts are a good batting side and to bundle them is a massive effort from us. yeah, Todd Astle and others were really good too."
Arriving for a chase of 172, the Central Districts were pushed on the backfoot by Matt Henry and Ed Nuttal. Both the bowlers cleared the top order within the powerplay as the Districts could sum up only 30 runs then. Not to forget they lost three of their big wickets by then.

A few runouts in the middle and some tight overs from McConchie and Todd Astle broke the middle order of the Canterbury batting order. Josh Clarkson did look good after a couple of sixes but would blame himself for leaving the crease early from the nonstriker's end and offering the opposition a key breakthrough. The last pair could manage to get 19 runs from the last 19 balls before they end up in a runout of the final ball of the match.
Some poor batting is what should be blamed for the loss of Central Districts on tonight's affair against Canterbury.  After some poor display of fielding in the first innings, they seem nowhere near while chasing a total of 173 runs. The bowlers of Canterbury were brilliant and gelled up well as a unit to restrict the Districts short of 47 runs from the required total.

Earlier in the game, Canterbury had won the toss and elected to bat first. McClure did give them a flying start but was soon dismissed by speedster Blair Tickner. Tickner got the edge over both the openers and Wheeler followed it up by castling the woods of Leo Carter. Canterbury was 38-3 after 5.1 overs and skipper McConchie steadied the ship with halfhearted supports from his fellow mates. Both Cam Fletcher and Mitchell Hay played their small part in building the innings with the skipper. McConchie took the charge with a brilliant 84 off 54 deliveries with 6 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name. This boosted the total to 172 after 20 overs. This could have gone way over 180 but an array of wickets in the final over from Lennox restricted them from happening so.
