Arriving for the chase, Team Abu Dhabi did lose a couple of wickets early after James Faulkner knocked off the openers on back-to-back deliveries. Liam Livingstone and Chris Gayle intended to steady the ship from there on but failed at it after Liam was castled up by a quicker one from Luke Wood. Just prior to this dismissal, Liam Livingstone hit him for a couple of sixes and fours, but eventually, it was the bowler who had the last laugh.
Things were getting tough for Team Abu Dhabi as the wickets were tumbling on the other end. Chris Gayle was the only one who was thumping the bowlers all around the park. Phill Salt joined him for a quickfire 17 runs but was too short in his stay. It was all upon Christopher Henry Gayle for the last few overs and he with a few monstrous hits in the 9th over, took the side just 19 runs short of a victory from the last over. In the end, Isuru Udana bowled a brilliant last over to defend 18 runs from 4 balls against Chris Gayle and win the match for his side.

The Universe Boss went on to stay unbeaten at 52 from just 23 deliveries but it would taste much sweeter had we taken his team over the line in the last over.
