Melbourne Stars have just given a 'Guard of Honour' for Erin Osborne who is retiring from the WBBL
What a way to finish off the match!! Elyse Villani wins the game for the Melbourne Stars and also gets her maiden WBBL century! Adelaide Strikers did put up an imposing 175/3 but that showed how good this pitch is.

Chasing that, the Stars opening duo of Elyse Villani and Meg Lanning reaffirmed the flat nature of the surface. The star pairing and friends combined to score 44 runs in the Powerplay. They only accelerated after that too with some loose bowling coming to their advantage too. The 119-run opening stand only came to an end when Lanning holed out to mid-off to provide a scalp for Megan Schutt.

There was still a lot to do for the Stars after Lanning's wicket as they needed 56 runs off 32 balls. Dane van Niekerk's economical 16th over made the equation slightly difficult but Annabel Sutherland broke the ice with a couple of boundaries to go along with a maximum off Tahlia McGrath's bowling. In the end, the duo of Villani and Sutherland took the Stars across the line without much fuss
