So, this is it from the encounter between the top and bottom of the table of WBBL 2021. This is Arijit Kundu, alongside co-commentators, Rohit Yadav and Ninad and I hope you've liked over coverage throughout the game.  It's time to bid adieu as we catch you soon in the 1st t20 to be held between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Stay tuned to the other coverage.
Man of the match: Ruth Johnston
Arriving for the chase, Renegades started off very decent scoring 42 runs in the powerplay and lost just a solitary wicket of Evelyn Jones. Courtney Webb was the next man to be dismissed and soon the Indian pair of Jemmimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur took either end of the 22 yards. They could only manage to add 2 runs more together as Jemimah was knocked off by Strano in no time.

Wickets kept on tumbling as Ruth Johnston and Tyla Vlaeminck and Sasha Moloney cleaned up the middle and lower order of the batting lineup of the table toppers. They were bundled up soon for 109 runs with 12 balls to spare. Ellie Falconer manages to play a late came of 24 runs off 12 balls and remained not out in the end. Sasha Moloney was the pick of the bowlers with a three-fer to her name.
Earlier in the game, Melbourne Renegades Women won the toss and opt to bowl first. Hurricanes lost a wicket early without ticking the scoreboards. Following this, Ruth Johnston and Du Preez tried to steady the ship by keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Both of them were patient in their approach and accelerated slowly and steadily. They managed to fetch 52 runs in the first powerplay.
Both of them found the gaps well and managed to score plenty on the board. They raced up to the half-century mark and eventually du Preez holes one in the deep at when the scoreboard speaks 120-2.

No sooner did this wicket fall, her partner in chief, Ruth Johnston too went back to the pavilion in a space of a run. The Hurricanes lost a few more wickets in the slog overs and pumped the score to 161 on the back of a quickfire innings from Stalenberg who scored 21 runs from just 12 deliveries. Harmanpreet Kaur and Courtney Webb scalped two wickets each for the Renegades and were the pick of the bowlers.
And with that, the team at the bottom of the table rolls over the team at the top of the table in the WBBL 2021. And this is the best thing about these franchise leagues. No team is really weaker and its all about what you do in the competition.

This has been an outstanding performance from the Hobart Hurricanes as they cleans up Melbourne Renegades within 109, winning by a margin of 52 runs.
