So that's it from match 21 of the Women's Big Bash League 2021, stay tuned for more live action across the globe. It's a goodbye from me, Ninaad Dixit along with Rishabh Gandhi and Akshay Bhide.
Jess Duffin is the player of the match for her brilliant performance with the bat in the death overs. Duffin played an unbeaten knock of 41 runs off 32 deliveries and hit three fours and two sixes!
A brilliant finish for the Melbourne Renegades as they get on the top of the WBBL points table defeating Sydney Sixers by xx runs. The Gades now have 4 wins in 6 matches.

Ellyse Perry won the toss for the Sixers and invited the Renegades to bat first. The Renegades didn't have the best of starts as they lost two wickets initially in the powerplay.

But the Indian duo of Jemimah Rodrigues (25 off 27) and Harmanpreet Kaur (43 off 32) steered the ship for the Renegades as they added 51 runs in 6.3 overs.

Some brilliant hitting in the death overs from Jess Duffin marshalled the Renegades to a good total of 142 for the loss of seven wickets.

Ashleigh Gardner was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 8 in her two over spell. Lauren Cheatle, Radha Yadav, Ellyse Perry and Stella Campbell picked up a wicket each but their effort was not good enough to restrict the Melbourne Renegades for a small total.

The Sixers didn't look in control at any point doing their innings as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The experiment of opening with Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry failed and Shafali Verma batting at number 5, also turned out to be a poor decision. Maitlan Brown top scored with 31 at number 7. Skipper Ellyse Perry tried to hold the fort from one end but played a poor stroke to throw away her wicket.

Shafali Verma showed some resistance as she cleared the rope twice but was adjudged out while trying to experiment with a stroke behind the wicketkeeper. There was no such effort from the Sixers with the bat as the Renegades completed an easy victory in the final over.

Ellie Falconer was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 28 in her four. Sophie Molineux, Ella Hayward and Courtney Webb scalped one wicket each. Jemimah Rodrigues was electric in the field and effected two run outs.

The Sydney Sixers are placed seventh at the points table, just above the bottom ranked Sydney Thunder who are yet to win a game this season.
