That's a wrap from us in the commentary box for this game between Thunder and Stars. Stars coming out on top. Don't go too far away as the second game of the day at the same venue at the Aurora stadium is moments away. It's Brisbane Heat up against Hobart Hurricanes from 11:20 AM IST. Switch tabs to follow that. This is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off and wrapping up proceedings on behalf of my co-commentators Ajay Ahire, Rohit Yadav and our scorer Manish Bishnoi. Till next time it's goodbye. Cricket from around the globe continues on One Cricket and Cricket Exchange with two mouth watering games coming up in the Super12 stage in UAE later in the day. So, follow the best content that we provide you on this network. For now, I take your leave. Goodbye, Cheers and Adios to you all.
Kim Garth has been awarded the Player of the Match for her awesome opening spell that ripped Thunder. Went for 11 in her final over she bowled that was the last over of the game, but job was done by then.
They say winning is a habit and losing is a habit as well. Ask the Sydney Thunder team. The defending champions look a pale shadow of themselves and rightly find themselves at the bottom of the table. They are missing their skipper Rachel Haynes alright but one player cannot make such a difference. Stars get sweet revenge of last year's final and their head to head record against Thunder improves. Winless now in 3 games Thunder is struggling.
Coming to the game, it looked like Thunder were doing well with the ball. They restricted the Stars to 108-7. I know it's a slow pitch but 108 was definitely not defendable. Ellyse Villani to scored with 52 off 63 while Bouchier got 31 off 29 for the Stars. For Thunder bowlers, Wong was the pick of the bowlers with 2-19 in 4 ably supported by Deepti Sharma 1-28 in 4 and Hannah Darlington 1-20 in 4 overs.

Thunder would have fancied chasing 109 but were blown away by a superb spell from the Player of the moment Kim Garth who had a sensational first spell. 3 overs 3 maidens and 3 wickets and the 4th wicket that fell to Annabel Sutherland, she took a blinder of a catch. Thunder blown away in the powerplay. 13-4, the worst powerplay in WBBL07 so far. Deepti Sharma tried with her 44 along with Skipper Hannah Darlington with unbeaten 17 but the damage was done at the top. 2 wins in 3 games if one considers the abandoned fixtures for Stars. After a slow start to their campaign, Stars are back in the fray. The same cannot be said of Thunder as they sink deeper into trouble.  A victory by 12 runs for the Stars.
Stick around to find out who has been awarded the Player of the Match.
