So, that's a wrap on the second game on this Super Sunday and the first of two at Aurora Stadium. There's the third game coming up shortly featuring Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder. Switch tabs to follow that. Toss of that game coming up shortly. Renegades with the win, Sixers with thinking to do with regards to batting against slow spin bowling. This is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Ajay Ahire and Tushar Garg along with our hard working ever green scorer Zeeshan Naiyer signing off from this game. Plenty of cricket happening not just in WBBL07 but across the globe. So, Stay tuned to all the content we have here in One Cricket and Cricket Exchange. Ta-ta and Goodbye for now! Cheers and adios!
Harmanpreet Kaur:- "It's a nice challenge and I enjoyed bowling in the powerplay in the absence of Warham. Winning the toss was important as we knew the wicket will hold up early on due to the moisture sustained from rain yesterday. It got better to bat on as we went forward. So, thank god Sophie won the toss. It was a struggle initially but in the end, I enjoyed myself with my batting. Getting some of my form back and finishing things off in style was the icing on the cake. It reminded me of Dhoni finishes things off in Style .(Laughs). Happy with the 2 points. Looking forward to move ahead with plenty of confidence."
Harmanpreet Kaur has been adjudged the Player of the Match for her all round display.
So, a dominant display from the Renegades from start to finish as they defeat the Sixers by 7 wickets with 18 balls to spare. They dominated the game from start to finish from winning the toss and deciding to bowl first and from there on it was spin to win. Sophie Molineaux was brilliant in her spell and so was Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur 2 wickets bowling inside the powerplay in the absence of Warham. The spinners strangulated the Sixers who had no momentum whatsover.
Perry struggled with her 50. They did well to recover to get to 118 but that was never going to be enough. In the chase, the openers Rodriguez and Jones got off to a great start and after that Harmanpreet Kaur finished it off in the end with an all-round performance. So, a win for the Renegades while back to back losses for the Sixers. I guess you all know who will be the player of the match.
Ajay: Back to back huge sixes from Harmanpreet Kaur takes Renegades home here and that is some vintage hitting by Harman in the end henceforth Renegades bags a couple of points here.
