Milestone
That's it from us at OneCricket and Cricket Exchange. Do switch tabs as Sydney Sixers Women take on Melbourne Renegades Women. This is me, Akshay Bhide signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ninaad Dixit and Tushar Garg. Good Day.
Laura Wolvaardt has been named the Player of the Match for her brilliant knock of 54.
Akshay: It was a brilliant all-round performance from Brisbane Heat. Heat put a mammoth total of 105 for the Strikers to chase and it required something extraordinary. The Strikers’ batters tried their level best but just couldn’t get across the line. Dane van Niekerk and Laura Wolvaardt started brilliantly as they played some sublime strokes in the chase. They put 68 for the first wicket until Heat skipper Jess Jonassen picked two wickets in an over to bring her side back in the game. Wolvaardt from the other end stood tall and brought up her fifty but it was too much to do in the end as her departure meant that the Strikers finished on 99, falling short by 5 runs. Jess Jonassen and Georgia Prestwidge finished with two wickets apiece.

The day began with Adelaide Strikers’ captain Tahlia McGrath winning the toss and opting to bowl first. It was a shortened game of 11-overs per side. The Heat got off to a flying start thanks to Georgia Redmayne and Grace Harris. They kept going at a brisk rate until Darcie Brown picked up a hattrick in the sixth over to dent the Heat’s progress. Suddenly the run-rate dipped but a nice cameo from Georgia Voll, in the end, helped Heat put 104 on the board. Darcie Brown picked up three wickets with Sarah Coyte chipping in with two scalps. With this win, Heat go to the top of the table.

W Shuffles outside the off stump again, it's a half volley outside off and hits it too hard trying to clear the fielder in the circle, mistimes it and the ball is straight up in the air towards backward point, the wicketkeeper Redmayne, runs and takes a good catch.
