So that is it from our end for the first game of the day Do join us for the broadcast of the second game of the day where Melbourne Stars will taking on Sydney Sixers, for now this me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Ninaad Dixit, until then stay safe and stay cool.....
Tahlia McGrath is the Player of the Match here.
That's it That's the match for Strikers here, as they beat Renegades by 8 wickets, they were absolutely brilliant with the bat as they chased the target with 15 balls left in their innings, Niekerk and Mack started off brilliantly in the powerplay as they scored 29 and 14 resp. but they couldn't continue the show then after but then Skipper McGrath and Wolvaardt take responsibility on their shoulder and finished the job for them as they scored 50 and 36 runs resp. with the ball renegades were below par as only Harman and Falconer managed to pick up the wicket each apart from them no one looked in control with the ball.
Before that Renegades scored 126 by losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs where Harmanpreet and Jones scored 41 and 36 runs resp. but no other batter could cross the 20 runs mark and with the ball for Strikers Coyte was brilliant as she picked up 3 wickets, Brown was also economical as she conceded only 16 runs in her 4 overs with taking a wicket at the top.
So it was a clinical performance with the ball as well as a bat by the Strikers and for Renegades it's a day to forget in the field.
17.3 S Molineux to L Wolvaardt
4 That's it. A nice way to finish the game. Flighted delivery on the stumps, Wolvaardt dances down the track and lifts it straight back over the bowler's head for a boundary. With this, the Strikers beat the Renegades by 8 wickets.
17.2 S Molineux to T McGrath
1 Fifty up for McGrath. Steps out and mistimes the heave straight towards long on for a run.
17.1 S Molineux to T McGrath
2 Dropped. McGrath steps out against a flighted delivery and looks to go over mid off but doesn't get the required elevation and the fielder on the edge of the circle moves to her right but fails to grab it. McGrath comes back for the second.
