Milestone
That's it from all of us at OneCricket and Cricket Exchange. This is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off on behalf of my colleague Ninaad Dixit and Zeeshan Naiyar (scorer). Good Day. Take Care.
Virat Kohli | India Skipper: "To come back with a win is a great feeling for the team and for me as well returning as captain. This is something we see time and again with the team, guys stepping up and performing. We saw that in Kanpur as well. It's also a case of the opposition playing good cricket and the pitch not assisting the players on day 5. We were able to create more pressure here as there was some more bounce and turn. The pitch at Wankhede provided us to play good cricket all around and that helped us to seal the win. We all are serving Indian cricket to be honest. The previous management did a great job. Now Rahul bhai  with the new management is trying to do the same. At the end of the day, whoever plays or coaches, the mindset should be to keep Indian cricket on top. It's a good challenge in South Africa. We started building up winning overseas in England and South Africa and were successful in Australia. We have experience playing there and we believe we can win anywhere. We want to win a series there and we want to achieve that as a team. We will ensure to play the kind of cricket we want to play."
Ravichandran Ashwin: "This is the 10th man of the series I guess. Can't lie on this one. The pitch was good to bowl. The ball was spinning and there was some extra bite on this surface. The surface was good to bat on in the last session of every day. Wonderful surface and always enjoy bowling at Wankhede. Brilliant performance from Ajaz Patel and he put our batters under pressure throughout the Test match. I and Jayant have a very good relationship and he flew to Chennai from Haryana to pick up my mind. Axar is a lot different from us and the art of spin is all about revelation. Looking forward to touring South Africa and be a part of the winning team."
Ravichandran Ashwin is the man of the series.
Mayank Agarwal: "It feels good to be back among runs. This knock will be special for me. It was all about game plan, mental discipline and being determined. I know sometimes technique won't always give you runs but mindset is the key. Rahul bhai just told me there's no point discussing technique in the middle of the series. Just try to have a positive mindset and go ahead. Sunny sir told me to keep my bat a bit low. I didn't really think about converting the 60 in a century but I should have converted it into a ton. We wanna go abroad and win tournaments and matches there, it is something everyone in the team is looking forward to."
Mayank Agarwal is the man of the match.
Tom Latham | New Zealand Skipper: "It was a disappointing performance. Always have to be on our toes while touring this part of the world but credit to India. The bowlers bowled well in the first innings and it was always going to get harder to bat on this surface as it was going to spin as the game progresses. We have players who will step up in crunch situations and always good to have depth in the squad. Special to be a part of something like this and credit to Ajaz for that performance. We will head home and after a week's quarantine, we will play a Test series against Bangladesh. Looking forward to that."
Time for the presentation.
Rahul Dravid: "Good to finish the Test series on a high. Came close in Kanpur as we failed to pick the last wicket. But credit to the team to bounce back in the series to win. It may feel one-sided affair but it was hard work from the players. Great signs for us to see the young players stepping up and grabbing every opportunity that comes their way. Good to see the likes of Mayank, Shreyas, Siraj stepping up with the senior guys missing. Not much discussion regarding the follow-on. The ball was turning and coming to Mumbai and playing on the red soil, we didn't want to bat last on this surface. Also, there was enough time and we wanted our batters to give some extra time in the middle. We have to manage our players' workload, with the players playing a lot of cricket in recent times. There is a great depth in the squad and a good headache to have at the moment regarding the selection ahead of the South Africa series."
Rachin Ravindra: "It's amazing to learn from Ajaz, the things he did in the first innings was amazing. It was probably the most nervous I was under a high ball (catching the tenth wicket). When the ball was up in the air, I saw my teammates supporting, so there was a bit of pressure."
Ajaz Patel: "It's a very special occasion for me and my family, doing it here in Mumbai is very special. To be able to do it here in Mumbai is very special, there was a lot of hard work to put in. Different challenges bowling in home conditions but you go everywhere in different conditions and play a different role everywhere. I certainly enjoyed here in India. I don't know how to put it in words, this is something I will always look back in my career, it is very very special. It is a bit overwhelming at the moment and probably will take some time to gel in. Rachin was nervous under that ball and I was nervous for him."
Shreyas Iyer: "Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Felt so well last night when I saw the honors board and my name will be written on it. Not thinking about cementing my place in the side. Always thinking to contribute to the team's success. Rahul Dravid is really good at giving confidence to the players. I worked with him during the India A series and we have gelled well since then. His work ethic is commendable and happy to be working with him."
Jayant Yadav: "The pitch was good to bowl on. The moisture on this Wankhede Stadium helped me extract some extra bite off the surface. Happy to bowl in tandem with Ravi Ashwin. Always learning from him and nice to take inputs from him."

Akshay: It's all over! That's over! India has scored a massive win here at Mumbai, they take the series 1-0. A huge, huge win for the Indian team as they have thrashed New Zealand by 372 runs. Today, they only took 45 minutes (more or less) to scalp the remaining five wickets.

Saving a Test match after being 539 runs behind was never going to be an easy task, and that too against the quality of Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav on a track which had spin and bounce. New Zealand showed a lot of grit and determination in the second innings, but it came too late. Ashwin started the act for India by breaking the Kiwi top-order, they lost one against Axar and one in Axar Patel, leaving them to 140-5.

The Black Caps started the day with Nicholls and Ravindra the unbeaten batters. The duo had a monumental task to save their blushes, but it was always going to be a tough task against a fired up Indian spin trio. Nicholls and Ravindra played some delightful strokes, but Jayant Yadav had something else in store for the Kiwi batters. He spun the web around the visitors and bagged four wickets to seal the deal for the home side.

Earlier in the game, it was all about Ajaz Patel and Mayank Agarwal. The former became the third bowler in the history of the game to bag 10 wickets in an innings. Patel's 10 wicket haul will be a moment to remember for a lifetime, not just for New Zealand cricket, but the celebration couldn't last long. As the Kiwis collapsed in the first innings, against the quality of Siraj and Ashwin, at 62.

This performance from NZ had to end up on the losing side as the home team was as dominant as ever. Despite losing all wickets to Patel, India never surrendered and the prime reason was Agarwal's 150 & 62. He dominated the New Zealand bowling attack and revived the innings a couple of times. Rest was left to the bowlers, they did what they do the best.

56.3 R Ashwin to H Nicholls
W And it's all over! Full, flighted outside the off stump. Nicholls is pushed forward, loses his patience and tries to go downtown, misses the delivery completely. Saha does the rest behind the stumps! India complete an emphatic victory by a massive 372 runs!
56.2 R Ashwin to H Nicholls
0 Full and straight, no turn on offer. Left alone outside the off stump.
56.1 R Ashwin to H Nicholls
0 Ashwin continues from round the stumps. Flatter delivery, wraps him on the stumps as Nicholls looks to work this in the leg side. Gets hit high on the pad.
