Indian skipper poses with the trophy before he hands the silverware to his teammates. Team India has sealed another glorifying series win here, Rohit Sharma is growing strength to strength with every match passing. Kudos to India and thank you, Sri Lanka, for coming in these hard times.

We also want to thank each and every reader of ours. Thanks for sticking around. This is me, Arjun Bhalla signing off on the behalf of my colleagues - Anurag Dasgupta and Raju Khariya. Stay safe and get vaccinated!
Rohit Sharma: "It has been a good run (On India's recent winning run). It is something we would like to continue. We wanted to achieve a few things as a team and I guess we have done that. Jadeja is a champion player and seems to be getting better and better with each passing game. He strengthens our team and has improved as a bowler. Shreyas Iyer just carried off from where he left in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He knew he was stepping on the big shoes of (Rahane, Pujara) and has done everything we have asked him to do. Rishabh is a special player. Especially in these conditions. We saw it in the last series against England and now a couple of stumping and catches have shown that he has really improved behind the stumps. It was my personal feeling (That Ashwin is an all-time great). Whenever we give him the ball, he comes up with something special. Pink-Ball Tests are always challenging. There are so many challenges and we are trying to adjust accordingly."
Rishabh Pant, Player of the Series: "I have made my fair share of errors in the initial parts of my career but I have worked hard on skills and I am glad that it is playing off well. I think both scoring runs and keeping wickets make me happy. As a cricketer, it is important to work and improve on both. The wicket was difficult to bat on so I had to bat more quickly than I normally do. If the team management wants me to bat at 5, I will do so. (On keeping improvement) I think it is about confidence and I am working hard and trying to improve every day."
Rishabh Pant banks the Player of the Series award for his wonderful performances through the series.
Shreyas Iyer, Player of the Match: "With the batters struggling (First innings), I knew I had to attack the opposition. I was trying to be one step ahead of the bowlers. No regrets (of not scoring a hundred). I was in the mindset to play as many balls as possible. When the tail came in, I was on 55 and I added 37 more runs, so I wasn't bothered about missing out on a hundred. I have always dreamt about India, to play Test matches. I hope I could continue the same way and maintain the same level of consistency."
Shreyas Iyer gets the Player of the Match award.
Hyundai Alcazar Grand Spell of the Match has been received by Jasprit Bumrah.
Rishabh Pant bags the Dream11 Gamechanger of the Match award.
Ambuja Atoot Jodi of the Match goes to Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis.
Dimuth Karunaratne: "Yes, I would have been happier if we would have won this. Once you stay on this wicket, it becomes easier to bat. As a team, we couldn't capitalised on the opportunities. We didn't get enough good scores and gave away too many loose deliveries. I am really happy for him. (Suranga Lakmal). I wish him good luck for the County season."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Harsha Bhogle.
Ravichandran Ashwin: "I am not really giving it thought on what I want to achieve. The pink ball was a bit of a challenge for this game. It is about being there at the moment, getting into the spell and getting into a rhythm. I enjoyed my spell today. How I am enjoying my bowling is more important. I thought Ahmedabad's pitch was quicker and had more bounce. The number of balls that spun and got the batter caught here was very little. Dimuth batted very beautifully. The wicket was slow and it was a different challenge. (Mendis wicket) I think before that, we were caught in a bit of a whirlwind. All of their shots were coming off. We had a lot of runs on the board and it was about getting the right pace on the pitch. I changed the angle. Not every time it comes off but today it worked."
Axar Patel: "(About being the third spinner) It's a win-win situation for me. They (Ashwin and Jadeja) are the legends of the game. Bowling with them helps me as it gets easier for me to bowl against the batters. Bowling in tandem with them is a great learning experience. (Judging at what pace I should on a deck) Bowling after Ashwin Bhai helps out. I see at what pace they are bowling and it takes just one over to get my pace right. (About being against Ashwin in the IPL) I want to congratulate Ashwin on being picked by Rajasthan. We had a good bonding in Delhi and we will miss it. It was a great experience bowling with him and learning from him in DC, but I am looking forward to playing against him. We both know our strengths and drawbacks, thus I am not worried about being in opposition of Ashwin."
DG: Well, another thumping victory by team India. This was always on the cards and they have battered Sri Lanka in all three departments of the game. The Test match gets over inside three days (Anyone surprised by it?). Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne played a blinder and saved his best for the last innings. The Lankan captain was the lone warrior and hardly received any support from the opposite end.

It was a proper rank turner and it certainly tested the skills of batters from both the sides. India showed a bit more grit and determination and perhaps Iyer's knock (in both the innings) was the difference between the two sides.

Chasing a near impossible total of 447, Sri Lanka lost Lahiru Thirimanne for a duck. The wicket was doing all sorts of tricks and their batters found it difficult to cope with it. Kusal Mendis and skipper Karunaratne started to resurrect their sinking ship and showed great determination to negotiate India's spin trio of Ashwin-Jadeja-Patel.

Sri Lanka lost three wickets in quick succession and it opened the doors of India to sneak through. On a pitch where everyone failed, Karunaratne stood like a brick wall and notched up his 14th Test century. But when you are playing in India, one lapse of concentration can cost you everything.

A lovely in-swinging yorker from Bumrah did the trick for India as Sri Lanka's resistance was torn apart. Karunaratne's wicket pulled that main plug as the remaining Lankan Lions fell apart like a castle of cards.

This was a dominant performance by Rohit Sharma and his troops and they have clinched the series 2-0. Kudos to Sri Lanka, for showing great fight in the second innings. Yes, the target was well beyond their reach, but they played well in bits and pieces and gave some nervy moments in the Indian dugout.
India win by 238 runs!!!
59.3 R Ashwin to V Fernando
W That's it, the match has ended and India have won this game by 238 runs. A complete performance by the team and Rohit Sharma kicks off his Test captaincy reign with a thumping series win. Lovely loopy delivery, inviting the batter to go for a big shot. Fernando couldn't resist the chance as he goes for a swipe and gets a top-edge on it. The ball lobs up and goes straight into the bucket hands of Shami at mid off..
59.2 R Ashwin to V Fernando
0 Flighted delivery, outside the off. Fernando goes for yet another block, but the steep bounce helps the ball to cop a blow on his glove..
59.1 R Ashwin to V Fernando
0 Tossed up ball on the stumps. Firmly defended by Fernando..
