Hope you enjoyed our coverage for today's games at the Pakistan National T20 cup. Stay tuned for more cricket action. Good night and stay safe.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, Sindh captain, "Our top order has the ability to play all the way as Sharjeel displayed today. Our bowling unit is brilliant everyone chipped in with wickets. If you pick wickets, you will definitely win, no matter what the conditions are. The ball was getting wet in the middle but Zahid still managed to bowl well. The team is in good hands as we have a good mix of young and experienced players."
Aamer Yamin, SP skipper, "Our bowling was poor in the death overs, full credit to Sharjeel. We will come back better. We were unlucky that we lost six matches in Rawalpindi. I am happy with the team, everyone learns from mistakes."
Sharjeel Khan is the player of the match, "You need to wait for the ball and play your strokes along the ground. I am an opener and like to play the new ball against the fast bowlers, but the situation was different today. This pitch was different to Rawalpindi and that was the key."
Some intense power hitting from the lower order in the end for Southern Punjab. But it was not enough for them to go over the line for the third time in this tournament as they lose by 45 runs and are out of contention for a spot in the semi-final. Sindh started well with the bat and the ball. Sharjeel Khan was the hero for them as he made a brilliant comeback after getting dismissed for a duck in the last match. Scored a magnificent 101 off 56 deliveries. Didn't get enough support from the other batters but the effort was enough to put them in a strong position at 196 for the loss of seven wickets. Aamer Yamin showed his all round skills yet again as he was the most economical bowler for Southern Punjab and also scored 27 off 18 deliveries that included 2 towering sixes and a four. Rumman Raees struck gold in the seventeenth over as he claimed a hat trick and finished with figures of 3 for 23 in three overs. Presentation ceremony to follow.
18.5 D Aziz to Zia-ul-Haq
