India takes an unassailable lead of 2-0 in this 3-match T20 series!! That's it from us today, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav!! Do join us for the 3rd and final T20I tomorrow at 7 PM IST! Until then it's goodbye, goodnight and very happy eid to everyone!!
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Man of the Match): Definitely, when the ball swings I really enjoy it!! If you remember the last time around I didn't get any swing, but this time around it was a different story!! Jason Roy is a dangerous player and I was delighted to get him early on before he could do any damage in the powerplay! If the ball swings it motivates you to do well and gives me confidence. I do not want to answer it and if I am playing then something is right.
Rohit Sharma, India Winning Captain: "England is a tough side. To beat them in their backyard is special. We knew what we wanted to do and we are doing what we ought to do. The boys are confident and doing well that's important. The boys performed well. I want to see how we perform after a win and the way we did was great. Jadeja was great. At 98-5, we needed a partnership, and he was great with his experience and he was confident to get us to a par total. We bowled brilliantly especially in the powerplay and in both the games the powerplay was great for us. We will think about it. We want to give the other guys a chance. I will have to have a chat with the coach and see what we need to do. Let's see the fingers are crossed for us. The red flag is not to get complacent and be up for it. So, it looks to be in good order here. Hope to win tomorrow."
Jos Buttler, England Losing Skipper: "Very disappointing. The way we played, was disappointing, deserved to lose. The score was par, Jordan and Gleeson bowled well. You could say we should have batted first, but the way we played we deserved to lose. Gleeson was great, he gave us breakthroughs. CJ gave us crucial breakthroughs and he kept India in check I felt. Absolutely, we will consider tinkering with the side tomorrow. Not much time to ponder."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
Ayan: Earlier in the game, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first reckoning it’s a flat wicket to bat on. India after making wholesale changes opened with skipper Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant at the top of the order. The openers got off to a rollicking start putting up 49 runs inside 5 overs before Rohit Sharma was dismissed by debutant Gleeson. Rohit was dismissed for 31 while Virat Kohli fell to Gleeson again for a single. Rishabh Pant followed them for 26 as they were 3 down in no time. Surya Kumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya got into double digits, but it was Ravindra Jadeja’s 46 off 29 balls that propelled India to post 170- 8 in their 20 overs.

From England’s point of view, Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers with his 4-27 in 4 overs. A memorable debut for Richard Gleeson was he had dream figures of 3-15 in 4 overs. The others were taken to the cleaners and that allowed India to get to 170-8. As it turned out it was more than enough for England as the visitors romped home by 49 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony coming your way shortly.

Ovaise: England were quite confident of chasing 170 down at the halfway mark, Jason Roy walked in to open the batting with Buttler and the former was dismissed on the first delivery by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who bowled a brilliant outswinger!! England was off to a disastrous start as they lost Buttler too on the 3rd ball of the 2nd over, the hosts were 11-2 after 2.3.

Livingstone and Malan got together and tried their best to maximize the power play. Chahal was introduced into the attack and delivered straight away by dismissing Liam Livingstone who was looking quite dangerous! England had lost 3 wickets in the powerplay and could not recover from this position!! Moeen Ali (35 runs of 21 deliveries) and David Willey (33 runs of 22 balls) stitched up a much-needed partnership and looked like they had an outside chance when the pair was in the middle. Hardik Pandya was re-introduced into the attack in the 15th over and he hit the last nail in the coffin by dismissing Moeen Ali who was England's only hope!!

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowler, picking 3 crucial wickets, Bumrah and Chahal scalped two each, Pandya and Harshal also picked a wicket each!! Jadeja went wicketless but his contribution with the bat in the first innings was a decisive in the outcome of this game!!  Eventually, England were bundled for 121, falling sort of 49 runs!! India takes an unassailable lead of 2-0 in this 3-match T20 series!!
This is Rohit Sharma's 14th consecutive T20I win as captain of India. This is India's fourth consecutive T20I series win against England; two of them at home and two of them away from home.
