That's all for this game. I Ansh Mishra signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ovaise Shariff and Chinmay Ranjan and Our Scorer/Analyst Paras Yadav. We will see you in the next match. Until then, Take care, Good Bye!
Joe Root | Player of the match : Feels fantastic, winning a Test match after a long team is a great experience. I have really enjoyed it and looking forward to the rest of the summer. I always feel that we get great support and appreciate whether home or away and it is nice to see them (crowd). I just want to keep batting as long as I can, win as many games for my side. As long as they got the energy and drive to do it, I am gonna be backing and do everything I can to help him (Stokes) become successful.
Ben Stokes (England Captain):  Great start for us as it is always great winning against New Zealand and that too in Lords. My first match as a captain was great with the guys and was the first match of the summer and to win that at the Home Of Cricket feels good. Brendon as a coach is the same as he was as a player and the influence he brings to the team is very good I am looking forward to working with him.
No one had the upper hand in any of the innings as Joe Root played superbly in the second innings and took us to the home almost single-handedly.
Potts was superb on his debut and I have seen him play with Durham and have seen him grow as a player and as a person also. He picked wicket almost every first over he bowled in this match and along with the legends Broad and Jimmy Anderson he would learn more and it inspire us also to go forward with the team.
Kane Williamson (New Zealand Captain): "Look, it was a fantastic test match, the boys played well but were just not able to get over the line. The game ebbed and flowed the whole time. We saw how difficult it was when the ball was hard and then how much it changed. Today we came here with high hopes and thought there might be some assistance from the overheads but it wasn't to be. It's about moving on quickly and taking the learnings. There's always plenty to take forward. [Ball change?] It was pretty difficult. We saw it changed a few times and thought if we could inch one out, we might be right in it. But it was a fantastic game of cricket which took an incredible innings from an amazing player to get them across the line - full credit to England. [Root?] Truly an unbelievable achievement, recognising the quality of the player and also his longevity. [2nd Test next week] Everybody wants to be contributing more. We saw the assistance with the harder ball. Definitely a lot of learnings. We'll reflect on this and look forward to the next one."
So finally England has won this match by 5 wickets.
What a roller coaster this match has been after both the team got bundled out for a very low score in their respective first innings. In New Zealand's second inning, after their first 4 wickets were down to 56, but then it was the brilliant partnership between the centurion Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell which helped New Zealand to set a target of 279 runs for England, and then it was all in the hands of England where Root with the fabulous unbeaten 115 runs and the half-century of Ben Stokes helped them reach home easily with the brilliant stable innings of Ben Foakes in the last. Joe Root single-handedly took England to the win. He registered his 26th ton in test cricket as well as completed his 10000 runs. Ben Foakes on the other side played a good inning with Joe Root, he scored 32 runs with the help of 3 fours. New Zealand couldn't take a single wicket on this day and it was easy for England to beat them. Kyle Jamieson registered 4 wickets to his name while Trent Boult could only take 1.
New Zealand will still have to wait for their win since World Test final against England.
