That's all we have from the commentary box. What a match this was. The second semi-final between Australia and Pakistan coming up tomorrow. Do join us for the clash at 6:40 pm IST. Till then it's ta-ta and goodnight from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Arjun Bhalla.
Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper- Obviously played each other a number of occasions. It was always going to be a great game. Ebs and flows and the heart of the show. They put up a competitive on the board hut just by staying in there, building those partnerships and cashing on the little match-ups.

Not an experiment in front of Mitchell's character. It stood out today and stood every time that he has played for us. He has not enough at the top of the order but has brilliantly in high-pressure situations.

I mean we suppose we were a little bit behind but T20 cricket is a game of small margins depending upon surface and boundaries and that could be match-defining. In the death stage, we had wickets in hand and that was important.

He came out and hit the ball hard. It was a valuable knock from Neesham. It was some strong hitting which was ultimately the deciding factor. You are always trying to win those small moments. A fantastic innings for Daryl. We will be following that match (the 2nd semi-final). We are really pleased with our performance but we know we have a day still to go.
Eoin Morgan, English skipper- Very little consolation. Coming into the game both teams were close in terms of skills but fortunately in a tight game we came at the wrong end of the stick. We represented ourselves really well. We continued to do that today but fell short. That can happen in cricket but I am extremely proud of the boys.

Probably hard to identify. We were right in the game till the 17th ort the 18th over. They had to push the button and their gameplan came off. We gave ourselves the best chance of winning. It was a two paced pitched. We are a six hitting side but struggled to hit sixes. We hung in there, we adapted to the conditions and got to a par score and felt right in the game in the halfway stage.

I mean to have Neesham to come out and hit sixes from ball one. He swayed the game in black cap's favour and all credit to him. I am still offering enough within the side. I absolutely love playing cricket at the moment. Lot of things to be proud. INcredibly proud to be leading the side.
Arya: The run chase was never going to be a straightforward one for New Zealand. For them to chase the target down, they needed a good opening partnership and Martin Guptill was one of the key players for the Kiwis to get his side off to a flier. However New Zealand lost Guptill and Williamson in quick succession as they were reduced to 13/2 and the pressure was well and truly on the Kiwis.

They were well behind the eight ball in the halfway stage of the run chase. It was a good partnership between Devon Conway and Mitchell but the latter in particular couldn't find the big shots and struggled in the sluggish track. New Zealand lost Conway and Glenn Phillips in quick succession but it was a gem of a knock from Jimmy Neesham which helped the Kiwis storm their way back into the game.

Right from ball one, looked in a murderous mood and kept finding the boundaries for fun. Following his dismissal, it was Mitchell who took the onus on himself and kept clearing the boundaries on a consistent basis. The last four overs were all New Zealand as they smashed 58 runs in 3 overs to win with an over to spare.
Daryl Mitchell, Player of the Match- Its nice to get the job done. It was quite challenging at the start. It was two-paced. Devon Conway batted very well and set up the platform. T20 is a game of momentum. We knew one or two big overs will get us back into the game.

We knew we needed one or two big overs, The way Neesham struck the ball from ball one was exceptional and helped us put pressure under England. Fans here has been very cool.
Daryl Mitchell without an iota of doubt will be the Player of the Match. What a sublime knock this was.
Arya: What an exceptional run-chase this has been from New Zealand. Daryl Mitchell take a bow. Before the tournament, not many knew about this man but everyone will remember this name after this stupendous knock. He stayed there till the end and ensured New Zealand chased the target down with an over to spare. England will feel that they have succumbed under pressure after the position they were in. Initially it was Jimmy Neesham who struck some lusty blows to get New Zealand back into the game, it was Mitchell who carried his bat through the innings and took New Zealand to their first ever final of a T20 World Cup.
Akshay: 'Nice Guys' are into the Final. I repeat, the Nice Guys are into their first-ever T20 World Cup Final.

4 And Daryl Mitchell does it for New Zealand. Sheer delight from the players and fans in Abu Dhabi. They are through to the final. A full toss from Woakes. Mitchell ends up getting the inside half of the bat down the deep backward square leg region for a boundary.
18.5 C Woakes to M Santner
1 Pulled hard, sweeper out there and Santer takes a single. A short one from Woakes and Santner gets the inside half of the bat down the midwicket region for a single.
Arjun: No... I don't think so.
Akshay: The Kiwis will be eager to finish in this over. You can't predict what could happen in the final over. 5 from 8.
18.4 C Woakes to D Mitchell
1 5 needed from 8 now. What an innings this has been from Mitchell. Woakes bangs this short. Mitchell goes through with the pull but doesn't make good enough contact. Falls short of the deep square leg fence and they take a single.
Akshay: Backing Mitchell to finish things with a six.
Arjun: Two sixes in two balls. This is breathtaking stuff! He has struggled for a large part of the night but he has hung in there and now smoking those crucial runs.
18.3 C Woakes to D Mitchell
6 He has nailed that again and he almost sealed the match for New Zealand. What an exceptional hitting spree from Mitchell. Proper power on display. Not short enough and the big arms and long legs of Daryl Mitchell in display yet again. Pulls it away with utter disdain from his presence and the ball goes soaring well over the deep midwicket fence.
18.2 C Woakes to D Mitchell
6 Ho Ho Ho !!!! Out of the ground again and New Zealand well and truly on top here. He hasn't tried to hit that too hard. Just the extension of the arms and uses his muscles to get that over the long-on fence. Not back of a length nor a full one. Absolutely in the perfect slot. Mitchell hangs back again and thumps that over long-on for another maximum.
18.1 C Woakes to D Mitchell
2 Slower ball from Woakes. Onto the surface and MItchell clubs it away just past the bowler and scampers for a couple.
