Milestone
That's all we have from the commentary box today. India almost out of the semi-final race. So a sad day for all the Indian cricket fans. We have a double header tomorrow and do join our coverage. Till then it's ta-ta and goodnight from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentators Sourya Chowdhury and Ninaad Dixit.
Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper- There is always planning going into big games. A fantastic performance against a formidable side. A number of things went our way. The surface wasn't easy to find rhythm on. The way the openers came out set the platform for the chase. I mean just getting adapting to the conditions.

The collective unit was outstanding, Kept applying pressure. A really strong performance. We were able to build on the first game. I mean you play against such strong teams they are so may throughout the tournament, there is match winners in every side.

We have to focus on ourselves. Ish is an outstanding T20 bowler, white ball bowler in particular. He has played a number of competitions in the world. Very experienced and there experience has been huge in the middle overs.
Virat Kohli, Indian skipper- Quite bizarre. We werent brave enough with the bat and ball. We were not brave enough in the intensity and New Zealand created pressure right from the first over. Most probably the result of little bit of hesitation with the bat.

Well, look when you play for India, you have lot of expectations not only from the fans. There is always going to be more with our games and we have embraced that over the years. No look there is only way to play in T20 cricket. Be optimistic and take calculated risks.

We cannot play the format differently and take pride in performing for the team. There is lot of cricket to be played in the tournament and the team must go out with a positive frame of mind.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
Player of the Match is Ish Sodhi- Couple of the boys call me Indraveer. Especially behind the stumps. Yeah I am usually quite big on pre-match but with bubble life you can only see the pitch on the match day and we had to adapt quickly.

Look I think a big part f our game is to use the spinners in the middle stage. Tim Southee gave us an important breakthrough in the powerplay. It was a tough loss against Pakistan and the way we played today we should celebrate. 3/18 its very hard to forget that one (referring to his spell against India in the 2016 T20 World Cup).
Handshakes going around as New Zealand strolls of the field delighted after their thoroughly convincing performance. Some sorry face among the Indians. They need something extraordinary to bounce back in the tournament and it's no more in their hands.
Arya: Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli both gave away their wickets in an attempt to up the ante and unlike the Pakistan match where Kohli and Pant was there to give India some sort of impetus in  the end, none of the batters could get going today. Pant and Hardik Pandya tried to rebuild the innings but to no avail.

They collected a few singles and doubles before Pant gave away his wicket to a fuller length delivery from Adam Milne. Hardik Pandya also fell cheaply and it was only a few good shots from Ravindra Jadeja in the fag end of the innings which got India over the 100 mark.

Arya: Mitchell was eventually dismissed by Bumrah but by then New Zealand were within touching distance of the victory target. In the end it was Kane Williamson who stayed there till the end and played some delightful shots to seal the deal for New Zealand.

Earlier in the day, it was a no-brainer for Kane Williamson to win the toss and put India in. Suryakumar Yadav who had to miss out owing to a niggle was replaced by Ishan Kishan and to everyone’s surprise it was Kishan who came out to open the innings with KL Rahul.

Kishan after finding a boundary gave away his wicket cheaply trying to flick one over the deep square leg fielder. Rohit Sharma survived a first ball duck as Adam Milne missed a dolly at deep fine leg. He smashed a six and a four to get the innings going. Rahul also played some impressive shots before perishing in the final over of the powerplay.

Arya: An utterly disappointing performance from the Men in Blue. While they still have an outside chance of making it to the semi finals given its a three way traffic between New Zealand and Afghanistan with three wins and two losses, it looks highly unlikely with the form they have displayed in the two matches.

For India to make a match out of 110 runs target, they needed early wickets and that too in a heap which didn’t really happen. Jasprit Bumrah started off quite brilliantly with a menacing opening over and came back to send back Martin Guptill in his 2nd over. India needed to cash on that little glimmer of hope but the duo of Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson had other ideas.

Mitchell in particular was the attacking partner in the partnership as he defied the Indian bowlers with his strong muscular shots. Williamson on the other end, ensured that there was no break for the Indians. He batted in his own sensible manner and looked in complete command of proceedings despite not taking any undue risks.

Arya: A hugely impressive performance from New Zealand to win by 8 wickets and with 33 deliveries to spare.
14.3 S Thakur to K Williamson
1 Fuller on the pads, flicked away towards deep mid wicket for a single to get New Zealand through the line! The Blackcaps are up and running on the points table. India now face a bigger threat, a bigger challenge to reach the semifinals.
14.2 S Thakur to D Conway
1 SCORES ARE LEVEL! Back of a length delivery on the leg stump, Conway pulls this behind square towards fine leg for another run.
14.1 S Thakur to K Williamson
1 Shardul is back in the attack. Over the wicket, good length outside the off stump. Enough room for Williamson to cut this behind square in the off side for a single. 2 more runs needed for victory.

13.6 H Pandya to K Williamson
1 Slower delivery, overpitched outside the off stump, driven across the line towards long on for a single. Loses the shape while playing the stroke as the bat turns in his hands.
13.5 H Pandya to K Williamson
4 Four more! NZ just one stroke away from victory. Fuller delivery on the off stump, dances down the ground and drives this over extra cover! One bounce and over the rope!
13.5 H Pandya to K Williamson
WD Goes short again, but down the leg side. Wide ball is the signal from the umpire.
13.4 H Pandya to K Williamson
4 100 runs on the board for New Zealand! Innovative cricket from Williamson. Slower bouncer just outside the off stump, Williamson upper cuts this over the keeper for four! Upper cut over leg slip! Quite innovative.
