So that's goodbye from me, Anurag, and my partners Dasgupta, Ninnad and Avinash from the comm box. Do switch tabs to track the second World Cup game of the day between, Pakistan and New Zealand. Good night and take care!!
Temba Bavuma | Winning Captain "Good day for us. We knew there were areas that we needed to improve on. Particularly our batting. Our bowling again was outstanding. They exactly know what to do. They share their intel which is valuable to us. Those are the type of performances we need with the bat. Obviously he has been striking like that in the nets and has backed himself. Losing a guy like Quinny.. he plays a vital role in the team, not only with the bat but as a senior player, but with Klaasen coming in it was an opportunity for him. At the end of the day it was another game of cricket to play for our country and we had to make sure we lived up to that. "
Keiron Pollard | Losing captain "We didn't score enough runs, the batters didn't come to the party. We didn't lose any wicket in the powerplay and wanted to keep it through the first half like that. It was a kind of stop start position and these things happen, yes he got stuck. Having said that, I can't point to someone, he was trying to do the job for us but failed. Before we think about the run rate, we have to think of winning all the matches first and then about the net run rate"
Anrich Nortje is the player of the match
"Playing in the IPL helped a lot, it helped give the team some information about the surface. I had the confidence of knowing the surface. It was a good wicket, similar to the IPL. We need to bring some extra variation to get some more help. Its always fun to bowl and interact with KG (Kagiso Rabada). Its more about understanding and communication rather than skill and  performance.

We didn't have a perfect game against Australia but we have to keep bowling and have to keep on improving."

And with that, we come to the conclusion of the 18th match of the T20 World Cup as South Africa rode on their top-order batters and chased down the below-par total of 144 with 8 wickets in hand register their first victory in the Super 12s.

West Indies had an ideal start, striking the skipper in the first over itself. Bavuma made way and Reeza Hendricks took the charge and played an excellent counter-attacking innings of 39 and built a valuable stand with Rassie Van der Dussen of 59 runs for the first wicket. Reeza holed out Hetmyer who took a screamer to dismiss the set batsman just before the drinks break to bring the game back in balance.

Van der Dussen struggled to time the ball like Simmons but soon found the rhythm and played second fiddle to Markram who took on the Caribbean bowlers to completely change the momentum of the game. Aiden Markram played an exceptional knock under pressure striking at almost 200 for his 51 and built a match-changing partnership with Rassie Van der Dussen. The couple remained unbeaten on 83 off 54 balls and chased down the total with 10 balls in hand.

Stay tuned for the Post-match presentation.

18.1 A Russell to A Markram
6 SIXX!! Brings up his fifty in style. What an innings this has been in the absence of de Kock. Length delivery on the middle to Markram who makes room and smacks it from the meat of the bat into the mid wicket stands for a maximum.
