Milestone
That brings us to an end of our coverage for today. See you tomorrow on yet another double header day. South Africa vs West Indies from 3:30 PM IST and Pakistan vs New Zealand from 7:30 PM. Two cracking contest on our hands. Till then it's ta-ta and goodnight from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) on the behalf of my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Ninaad Dixit.
Mohammad Nabi | Afghanistan Skipper:

"Thanks to almighty. It is always good to start the tournament on a winning note and so happy with the win.
It was a fantastic effort by the batters. The openers were good and then it was very good running between the wickets from our batters and helped us finish on a high.
We have world-class spinners on our side in Rashid and Mujeeb and they have experience of playing all around the world. Mujeeb is playing in his first World Cup and he got the man of the match.
We have got a very good side and hopefully, we will keep playing like this and keep winning."

Kyle Coetzer | Scotland Skipper:

"We've been some really good cricket until this stage but sometimes things don't go according to your plan. The pitch was slightly tricky looking at their bowling which is difficult to play. All credit goes to them.

I though we fought hard in the field, it's just a level check for us. It's good for us to be playing at this level, we will take a positive stride and will reflect on this performance. We have strong belief in us as a unit."
Arya: It was always going to be a humungous ask for Scotland to get close to the daunting target. Mujeeb-ur Rahman spun a web around the Scottish top order after a good start from George Munsey. He executed a couple of reverse sweeps brilliantly but the first wicket on 27 began the downslide and Scotland had no way whatsoever to break their way into the match. Wickets kept falling one after the other and it was definitely a tough learning curve for the relative minnows in the competition.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman is the player of the match!

"This was my first ever T20 World cup match and I am very happy to perform well and win the man of the match award in it. There was lots of positive energy from the crowd and that helped our team to play positive cricket."
Arya: It was all about the bowlers right from the word go. George Munsey started off by executing a couple of reverse sweeps which fetched him a four and a six.
Arya: What an authoritative performance from Afghanistan. The 130 runs victory is their biggest in their history of T20I cricket. The Scottish batters had no answer in front of the spin duo of Mujeeb-ur Rahman and Rashid Khan. While Mujeeb rocked Scotland early with a five-wicket haul while Rashid Khan wiped out the lower order with four quick wickets. All the Scottish batsman didn't pick either of the spinners and were completely at sea in front of their guile and variation.
10.2 R Khan to B Wheal
W And it's all over! Bowled him with a googly! Good length and pitches just outside the off stump, gets through Wheals defences! Afghanistan win by 130 runs! It was Mujeeb and Rashid's night after the brilliant performance from the batters!

Review taken by Davey. Third umpire asks for front on spin vision. Ultra-edge coming up. Flat line all the way to the pads. Off to ball-tracking now. Pitching outside off, impact in line and hitting the wickets and the 9th one goes down for Scotland. They are on the brink.
10.1 R Khan to J Davey
W This looks close and UP GOES THE FINGER! Good length delivery, straighter one, Davey tries to reverse sweep but gets beaten due to the bounce, is hit on the back of his front leg, a loud appeal and up goes the finger! Davey reviews. 3 reds on the ball tracking, Davey has to depart! Third wicket for Rashid Khan!
Akshay: Time for a drinks break. That's a sensational bowling effort from Afghanistan as Scotland are reeling at 60/8. This should get over quickly and it will be a big boost in the Afghan's side net run-rate.

9.6 K Janat to J Davey
1 Another single to end the over, Scotland is 60 for 8 at the halfway mark. Good length delivery on the stumps, pulled away to the mid wicket fielder for a run.
9.5 K Janat to J Davey
0 Good length delivery, down the leg side. Davey is outside the line of the stumps, trying to work this around the leg side but gets hit on the pads.
9.4 K Janat to S Sharif
1 Fuller in length on the stumps, punched down the ground towards long on for a single.
The tail enders are not taking any chances here against the medium pacer.
