Mahmudullah, Bangladesh skipper:
"
This was a much needed win for the team, the wicket was better than the previous game for the batters as we scored 180+, the bowlers also performed well as a unit.

We need to work towards getting a better score in the powerplay and also need to improve in our bowling in the first six overs. We need to figure who is the bowler in the opposition who we can target in every game."
Assad Vala | PNG Captain: "We bowled well up front but failed to execute our plans in the end. Last four overs were the difference between the two sides.
The powerplay batting was the issue for us. We kept losing wickets in the powerplay throughout the competition.
A lot to take from the competition. We have got the opportunity to compete against the best players in the world and we will look forward to stepping up next time if we get an opportunity again."
Shakib Al Hasan: "We had to fight hard so far but the pressure is released now and we have qualified for the Super 12s.
I look to stay on the wicket as I'm batting up the order. I look to contribute consistently with the bat and whenever I get a chance, I look forward to taking wickets with the ball.
I was exhausted in the middle while batting. I have been playing non-stop for the last 5-6 months and it's nice to get some rest before the next round."
Shakib Al Hasan has been named the Man of the Match.
So, a dominant victory for Bangladesh in the end!! Bangladesh did put PNG on the hook by posting 181-7 and it was always going to be an uphill take to chase it down for the emerging nation. The start was itself forgettable as Lega Siaka and Assad Vala departed in consecutive overs. Bangladesh's talisman Shakib Al Hasan also got into the action as Charles Amini and Simon Atai were dismissed in the fifth over.

The duo of Sese Bau and Norman Vanua tried to build a partnership but Shakib got his third scalp by removing the former. Vanua also departed in the tenth over after failing to execute a big shot off Mahedi Hasan. The collapse continued as Hiri Hiri became Shakib's fourth victim.

Just when it looked like the innings will be wrapped up, PNG wicket-keeper Kiplin Doriga added some respectability to the score with a few lusty blows. In the end, Doriga remained not-out but Taskin Ahmed had Damien Ravu caught behind to bowl out PNG for 97!!
19.3 T Ahmed to D Ravu
