Milestone
With this win, Sri Lanka have qualified for the Super12 stage. The winner from the Ireland-Namibia clash will become the second team to become the second team to go through from Group A.

That is all we have from the commentary box for this game. Do join us tomorrow as we two cracker games of Group B - that will tell who would get to the next stage.

Till then it's ta-ta from me, Arjun Bhalla and my fellow mates Anurag Dasgupta (DG) and Anurag Singh.
Dasun Shanaka: "Yes we were a bit worried (At 8/3). The opening partnership has been a cause of worry for us. Promoting Hasaranga at number 5 was in our plans and it worked perfectly for us. It is a great luxury to have them in our squad (Chameera and Kumara) and I am really happy to see them perform. Just hope the top order performs in the next match and that's the only area of concern."
Andrew Balbirnie: "We started the week really well against the Dutch. We knew we would be playing catch up if we lost that game. It's a brilliant Sri Lanka team. I think they batted and bowled really well. We did well with the ball but couldn't get the job done with the bat. We've got a big game on Friday now and it's all to play for."
Wanindu Hasaranga | Man of the Match: "When I went for batting the score was 8/3. I was in a little bit of pressure and then I got advantage of how the wicket played. I rotated initially and then I accelerated. Yes, I will bat at number 5 in the future. Bit tired today. because of the heat. (For all the Sri Lankan fans in Sinhalese)- Thank you for all your support."
Chamara Silva: "This win for SL means they are into the next stage and Netherlands is out of the tournament right?" It does indeed, because it's a straight knock-out between Ireland and Namibia now. Those two teams will finish with two and one wins each."
Arjun: After half a dozen twists and tales, this has been a one-sided affair for Dasun Shanaka’s Sri Lankan team. Ireland once restricted the opposition to 8/3 but the table turned and the former trophy clinchers from 2014 put up a daunting total of 171 runs. With runs on board, the Lankan bowlers made the Irish batters look like a cat on a hot tin roof.

For the Islanders, each and every bowler was at his might best tonight. Chameera and Kumara swung the ball at the pace that never dropped below. Hasaranga and Theekshana spun it sharply to put the lid on the runflow. Apart from them, Karunaratne bowled at cramping areas. And all of them were with wickets.

The first blood was drawn by Karunaratne who made O’Brien top edge one at short fine. Stirling played one similar shot to get removed, only difference was he miscued the off-break of Theekshana. And then Hasaranga kept a wrong un low to castle Delany.

Shanaka baffled the Irish middle-order with the sheer pace of Kumara. He just came running to unfurl their hard lengths balls that jagged in and went off the Irish middle order. Captain Balbarnie and young Tector were the ones who fell prey on the speedster. Apart the top and middle order were done, everyone came in and chipped in to bowl the Ireland out.

However, it would be wrong to say that Ireland did play with any spirit. The duo of Balbarnie and Campher tried to dig deep.
Despite some resistance from them, Ireland's last six wickets tumbled for 16 in 5.5 overs and it was where Ireland lost the plot - all thanks to the ruthless bowling performance in the second-half of the game.

Earlier in the match, Hasaranga and Nissanka notched up their respective fifties. At one stage, they were tottering at 8/3 and were in danger of getting bundled out cheaply. But a 123-run stand for the fourth wicket took the game away from the Irish camp. Josh Little was the only Irishman who teased the Lankan, by some extent, with his 4-23.

That draws the curtains on a thoroughly ruthless bowling performance from Sri Lanka, as they bowl Ireland out on 101, bagging the game by 70 runs.
18.3 C Karunaratne to J Little
W OUTT!! The wickets light up and Sri Lanka have wrapped this up way early. Full toss on the leg stump, Little goes for the paddle scoop, gets a leading edge that goes on to hit the leg stump. Ireland bundle out on just 101 in just 18.3 overs.
18.2 C Karunaratne to S Singh
1 Slower back of a length on off, Simi Singh punches this on the up towards sweeper region for a single.
18.1 C Karunaratne to S Singh
0 Starts off with a length delivery going down the leg. The ball trickles down the pads straight to the keeper.
