So that's it from this rain interrupted game. New Zealand Women's taste their first victory in the ongoing tournament. This is AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of Ovaise, Anirudh Modi along with our scorer Manish Bishnoi. Thanks for tuning in. Stay tuned on our websites and apps for the matches all around the globe. We will meet in the next match. Until then, it's cheers..!!!
New Zealand Women Captain, Sophie Devine: "Well coming into Dunedin, the typical Dunedin weather was up for us. The ground staff's really did well to get a game of 27-overs. It was  really good wicket but Bates really batted well. Well, we were not really off track, it was just a nail-biter against the West Indies Women's. Next game is against a tougher Indian side and we will prepare well for it. With knowing a little bit of history against them last time we played them it should help us."
Bangladesh Women Captain, Nigar Sultana: "Yeah, indeed I think Fargana did really well. She got to a first World Cup fifty. Our lower-order didn't turn up. We need to play well and strategies better in the coming games. We were not able to see the ball clearly out there and it was very cold out there. We didn't bat well in the last game but today we showed some fight with the bat. We will do better in the next game."
Player of the match, Suzie Bates: It's been a strange day, I was devastated in the morning when I opened the curtains and it was raining, really grateful to Bangladesh who made it here and we got a game. Having that partnership with Amelia Kerr eased off a lot of pressure. Knowing this wicket, you can trust your shots and hit through to the line. I want to contribute as much as I can, we have a few massive games coming. My job is just to absorb the pressure. Nice to have family and friends around to cheer us from the stands.

Bangladesh Women’s played their first ever game in the ODI’s against the New Zealand Women’s side. The rain was in the focus for about four hours before the play could start. Match was reduced to 28-overs per side earlier and later it was reduced to 27-overs.

Bangladesh Women’s were put into bat by Sophie Devine. Fargana Hoque and Shamima Sultana batted aggressively in the powerplay as they scored 41-runs in the first five overs. They added 79-runs for the first wicket. Shamima played well for her 33 off 36-balls. This was the first ever in their 44-ODIs that they have had a fifty plus partnership for the opening wicket in a consecutive match.

New Zealand pacers were short early on and spinners came on after that. Amelia Kerr, Amy Satterthwaite, and Frances Mackay dried the runs and handed over the pressure back to the batters. In the pressure, they lost wickets at clusters and finished their innings on 140/8. Fargana Hoque on the one side fought hard, bringing her first ever World Cup fifty. She scored 52-runs from 63-balls.

Satterthwaite bowled exceptionally well to pick up three wickets in her 5-overs giving away 25-runs. Frances Mackay was brilliant with both bowl and field as she enforced a couple of run-outs along with a wicket to her name. Amelia was excellent with the ball but went wicketless. Hayley Jensen in her home turf took a wicket.

Akshaya: New Zealand Women thrash Bangladesh Women by 9-wickets with 42-balls left. Much needed after that agony against the West Indies Women. Bangladesh Women’s were once again good early on but couldn’t carry it further.

Chasing 141 was never an issue for these inform White Ferns batters. They were aggressive with their approach straightaway. Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine started off well adding 36-runs for the opening wicket in just 6.4-overs. Devine played a ball on the back foot instead of front foot, leading to her dismissal in the bowling of Salma Khatun. She scored 14 from just 16-balls.

Later, Bates joined hands with the young star of White Ferns, Amelia Kerr adding more and more runs during the middle and final phase. During the end 13th over umpire signaled for the drinks break but both the teams were happy to say no to it allowing the match to progress without the halt since the drizzle was on slightly. A great spirit shown by the two teams.

Suzie Bates then marched on and completed her fifty. She was unbeaten on 79 from 68-balls while Amelia Kerr was not out on 47 from 37-balls. This match-winning unbeaten partnership of 108-runs from 83-delievries took New Zealand Women's home easily in the end.  In the process Suzie Bates reached a milestone of completing 1000-runs in the World Cups on her home ground. Bangladesh Women's used 7-bowlers but apart from Salma Khatun no one were able to pick up the wicket.
