So that's all for the coverage of this game. Do join us tomorrow for more IPL action sharp at 7 PM IST. Till then, ta-ta and a goodnight from me, Anurag Dasgupta and my co-commentators, Akshay Bhide and Karthik Raj..
Glenn Maxwell | Man of the Match:

"Perfect day. Virat and KS got us through the powerplay and set up a platform for us. I wanted to cash in hitting to the shorter side with the wind going as well. I have put in a lot of work with my state side Victoria and happy it worked. Hopefully people stay safe, get vaccinated and we can travel around the world safe again."
Virat Kohli | RCB skipper:

"Very happy and the way we won. It was a difficult start with the loss of Devdutt in the second over. I got off to a good start and KS took the pressure off me. 8 for 30 against such an unbelievable batting lineup is great.

You have to get into the bowler's space every now and then, especially against world-class performers like Bumrah. Tonight no complaints. Maybe in batting I will give it 8, we should've got 20-25 more."

Dream XI game changer of the match award goes to Glenn Maxwell for his outstanding all-round performance.
Harshal Patel | RCB player:

"I was thinking if the batters can't pick my slower balls then the bowlers also will find it difficult to spot (referring to his Chahar's wicket that got him the hat-trick). I just bet on that. This is my sixth time being on a hat-trick and finally got one, so pretty happy.

He (Pollard) is somebody who can do damage if you bowl in his areas, we wanted to take him wide and then once you drag him wide you have the option to bluff him, that came off really well.

The way Siraj started, he's someone who sets the tempo for us and the way Maxi and Chahal bowled in the middle overs were absolutely brilliant. They were under pressure at the death and we executed really well.

Rohit Sharma | MI Skipper:

" Thought was a fantastic bowling effort from us. At one stage they looked like scoring 180-plus. Batters let us down. That's been something that's been happening consistently (losing their way with the bat). Have had a good chat with the batters.

Those who are in need to carry on. They kept the pressure on us once a couple of wickets fell. Need to bounce back from whatever situation we're in. We've done that in the past.

Just not happening this season. He's a talented player (Ishan Kishan). He's had a terrific IPL last year. We want to back his natural game which is why he came up the order above Surya. Don't want to put too much pressure on the guy. Relatively young, making his way in international cricket."

Chasing a tricky 166, MI were off to a dream start, with both Rohit Sharma and QDK looking in sublime touch. The duo added 57 runs for the first wicket and at one point everything looked done and dusted for King Kohli's troops.

But then enters Yuzi Chahal who dismissed QDK and from there on everything changed for RCB. The spin duo of Maxwell and Chahal tighten the screws during the middle overs and suffocated the MI batters for each and every run. Maxwell chipped in with crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya and Mumbai Indians never recovered from it.

And then came in Harshal Patel. MI were still alive in the chase till the time Pollard was out there. But Harshal was at his devastating best as he bagged a sensational hat-trick and closed all the doors for a comeback. In the end, he finished off with figures of 4 for 17 as MI faltered in their chase. And for the first time in so many years, the dominating Mumbai Indians are in a danger of missing out on a place in the knockout stage of this competition.

Hang round everyone, time for the presentation ceremony.
And there it is, a comfortable 54 run victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore here. It was an innings of two halves. MI dominated the first 10 overs and at one stage it looked like the game will be done and dusted pretty quickly. But then the lightning struck in the form of Harshal magician Patel who bagged a hat-trick and won the game for his side.

Make no mistake about it, this is a game won by the bowlers. Yuzi Chahal started the carnage and the duo of Maxi and Patel followed him.

17.6 Y Chahal to T Boult
0 Short of a length delivery, Boult goes back and plays it to mid-wicket. No run
Okay, what really happened here? Was that cleaned bowled? No, the umpires are checking for a stumping. The decision goes upstairs. Just checking for a caught behind. Flat line on the ultra-edge, no bat involved. Back-foot is also grounded when the keeper dislodges the bails..
17.5 Y Chahal to T Boult
0 Full googly, Boult looks to flick but he misses it. KS Bharat collects the ball and whips off the bails before coming up with a half-hearted stumping appeal. The decision has been taken upstairs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli seems to think that the ball struck the stumps directly. The replays show that Boult wasn't bowled and he also had his foot grounded at all points. No run
17.4 Y Chahal to T Boult
0 Full and wide, Boult plays it down the track. No run
