Milestone
That's the end of our coverage for this game. Do join us tomorrow for the second T20I of the series. Till then, it's a goodbye and a ta-ta from me, Anurag Dasgupta and my co-commentator, Anurag Singh.
Mahmudullah: We had a team talk that we were 10 runs short, so we have to field well and put more effort. That's what you need in defending low totals and have attacking mindset. They are a very good side and we need to tick the boxes we failed today. The hunger needs to be there to win every game for Bangladesh. I am not over the top at the moment, it was a match and it is gone, looking forward to tomorrow's game.
Nasum Ahmed is the player of the match for his 4 for 19.
Matthew Wade: I thought the bowlers did a terrific job to restrict them to 130. But having lost 3 for 10, me and Marsh tried to resurrect the innings but unfortunately we couldn't do that. We have to find ways to score runs on such pitches. The wickets spun on the West Indies, but here it skidded on in the first few overs and we didn't execute our plans. We have to eliminate the errors in the first six overs and then take it from there.
DG: Earlier in the day, the Australians used the cutters really well and restricted a strong Bangladeshi batting lineup to a paltry total of 131. The total looked within their grasp at the half-way mark, but their batting disappointed once again and they were always playing the catch up game after losing 3 wickets in the powerplay. Hang around, presentation ceremony in a while.
DG: Only Mitchell Marsh looked like a proper batter out in the middle as the dynamic player fought a lone battle for his side. Till the time Marsh was there in the middle, the game was hanging in the balance. But his dismissal in the 16th over changed the course of the match. In the end, 132 was too much for the visitors to chase and they eventually faltered on a slow, turning track. Nasum Ahmed was the star bowler, picking up 4 for 19 to rattle the Aussies.
DG: The Australian chase never kicked off as they lost Alex Carey on the very first ball of the innings. Skipper Mahmudullah utilised his spinners really well as they picked up 3 wickets in the first three overs. The spinners never allowed the Aussies to settle down as they tighten the screws on the scoring rate.
DG: That is the end of the match and surprisingly it was a one-sided affair with Bangladesh winning the game by 23 runs. The Bangladeshi spinners were simply magnificent who used the pitch to their advantage and picked up 6 wickets out of the possible 10 to turn the game in their favour.
