That's it from the Big Bash for today. We still have a final on the cards where the Sixers will go up against the Scorchers, do join us for that on Friday the 28th of January. This is Badal Pareek signing off on behalf of my fellow commentators Arijit and Akshay Bhide as well as our Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Adios, see you soon.
Hayden Kerr | Player of the Match: "It's unbelievable. I was taking ball-by-ball and just tried to hit in the gap and run hard for two runs. It was really unfortunate for Josh to miss out and this afternoon, I was informed that I would open tonight. Happy that it paid off. I think Silk is still struggling with his injury and let's hope he recovers before the final. I was always trying to hit in the gap and backing the other guy to run two. Great to finish on the winning side."
Hayden Kerr's 98* runs off 58 deliveries helps the Sixers win by 4 wickets. This literally went right down to the wire and somehow Sixers have managed to come out on top. Sydney Sixers will now face the Perth Scorchers in the final of this year's BBL.

Sydney Sixers won the toss and decided to bowl first. Their bowlers were on it from the word go. They picked up three wickets in the powerplay. The Strikers were 21/3 at one stage and were struggling to get going. Ian Cockbain and Jonathan Wells started the recovery for the Strikers. Once they were well set, they started to pick up the pace. They had an 83 run stand which was broken in the 15th over. Wells get going post the departure of Cockbain. He was well supported by Renshaw. They managed to score 60 runs in their last 5 overs and the Strikers finished at 167. Sean Abbott was the pick of the bowlers for the Sixers.

Sixers started the chase with a new opening pair since Phillipe wasn't available due to Covid. Avendano was joined by Kerr to open the innings. They lost Avendano early in the innings. Things were not that easy out there in the middle but the Sixers did manage to keep up with the asking rate. The match took shape in the power surge when Siddle and Conway picked up a wicket each. All of a sudden, the Sixers were on the back foot. The required run rate was over 10. Kerr batted magnificently all along and he was going to be the for the Sixers. He did the bulk of the scoring and was soon joined by Abbott who smoked the Striker bowlers to all parts. The match went down to the wire and the Sixers required 12 runs off the last over.

They lost back to back wickets off the first two balls in the final over. Luckily, Kerr was still out there for them. He smoked a maximum of the fourth ball. He helped his team over the line in some fashion. In the end, he remained not out with 98 runs. It probably was the best T20 inning under pressure.
The Sixers are in the final. It has been some match, Sydney Sixers won by 4 wickets. Hayden Kerr you beauty.

19.6 H Conway to H Kerr
4 Full and angling into the right hander this time. Kerr flicks it hard this time and looks to get a couple. Oh, there's a misfield by the fielder at the deep and it has run all the way to the deep square leg fences. It's a boundary and Kerr has done it for the Sixers. What a match!! What a game of cricket here!! One of the best of the ongoing season!
Akshay: Silk is walking off and Lenton walks out to the middle. This is interesting. Silk had suffered an injury and the Sixers camp thinks that he can't run two on the final ball.
2 to win from the last ball. Are we in for a super over?
19.5 H Conway to H Kerr
2 Full and slow again on the hard length and the batter miscues the hit down the ground. They runs hard for a double and gets it as the ball evades the bowler in a sluggish way. Are we in for a super over?? Wooaaahh!! 2 runs needed from 1 ball.
Badal: This is some match. Is there another twist in the tail?
Akshay: I can't watch it. I seriously can't watch it. After ebbs and flows throughout the match, we are down to the last two balls. The defending champions require four runs from the last two balls.
19.4 H Conway to H Kerr
6 Slow and wide from the bowler, Conway here. Kerr widens a bit waits for the ball and slogs it well over the fielder at widish log on.Jonathan Wells jumps and looks to get a hand there but the ball flies over him this time.  4 runs required from 2 balls now!!
19.3 H Conway to J Silk
1 Full and slow from the bowler and Silk works it across the line for a single this time.

W Goodness me!! What have you done here Ben! Full and s=down the legside from the bowler and Kerr works it down the square leg region for a single. Ben wanted a double and was sent back lately and the until then the bails was dislodged by the wicket keeper via a good throw from the deep.
