Milestone
That's all for the coverage of this eliminator. Do keep a tab on all the cricketing action taking place right here at OneCricket. Till the next time, it's a goodbye from me, Anurag Dasgupta and my co-commentators, Badal Parekh, Arjun Bhalla and Anurag Singh.
Mathew Short is the player of the match for his scintillating knock of 89 (48).

DG: That’s the end of the game and the Strikers have won this contest pretty comfortably in the end. 188 looked like a stiff target and it certainly was too much for the Hurricanes who faltered in their chase and lost the match by 22 runs. With that win, the team from Hobart have been eliminated from the Big Bash League competition and Adelaide reached the knockout stage of this coveted tournament.

Chasing 188, Hurricanes got off to a worse possible start, losing star batter Ben McDermott for just 6 on the board. McDermott has been the star performer for the Hurricanes this season and his early wicket jolted the chasing team. It’s as if they never recovered from that loss. Mathew Wade came in at number three and he departed for just 7.

With two wickets down and their backs against the walls, D’Arcy Short and Caleb Jewell steadied the sinking ship of their side. The duo added 39 runs for the third wicket and gave a ray of hope to their side. Once Jewell went back to the hut, things turned from bad to worse for the Hurricanes.

Short played a lone hand and while he was out in the middle, there were some nervy faces in the opposition camp.  He played an entertaining knock of 56 and had to throw his wicket away in pursuit of some quick runs. Once the southpaw went back, the wicket-gates opened and the Strikers ran through the middle and lower order with utmost ease. Other than Short, no one quite stood their ground and as a result the Hurricanes are out of the tournament.

The Strikers won by 22 runs.
19.4 P Siddle to R Meredith
W What a way to end the match!! Superb performance from Siddle, he bags his 4th wicket of the night. A toe crushing yorker right on the money. Meredith makes room to dig this one out but fails to get his bat down in time as the ball goes on to rock the middle stump.
19.3 P Siddle to S Boland
1 Overpitched on the stumps, Boland squeezes this to extra cover and scampers for a single.
19.2 P Siddle to R Meredith
1 Banged in short on middle and leg. Meredith mistimes the pull to wide long on for just a single.
19.1 P Siddle to S Boland
1 On a hard length angled in and around the fourth stump line, Boland arches his back and places it past point for a single.

18.4 H Thornton to S Boland
1 Pitched up on the stumps, Boland slogs it towards long off and takes a single.
18.3 H Thornton to R Meredith
1 Full on the off, driven towards mid off for a single.
18.2 H Thornton to R Meredith
2 Short and wide, width offered. Meredith slashes hard and places the ball towards sweeper cover for a couple.
18.1 H Thornton to R Meredith
4 FOUR! Meredith smashes it straight down the ground for a boundary. It was full and in the slot, the batter was onto it in a flash. The ball races past the man at mid-on on it's way to the fence.
