Stars win this by 106 runs and finish their campaign on a positive note. That ends the league stage of BBL 2021-2022 and the Hurricanes advance to the playoffs. Despite being bullied by Stars into submission in this dead rubber, Hurricanes find a place in the final five due to consistent performances through this season.

Well well well...who would have thought that a dead rubber would keep us this interested. Maxwell turned up for his Hundredth BBL game and decided to remind everyone why he is regarded as one of the best in this format.

Big show Maxwell bludgeoned his way to an unbeaten 154 off just 64 deliveries. Slog sweeps, Reverse sweeps, cuts, ramps, pulls..we saw it all. The Stars skipper took the game head-on from ball one and made a mockery out of this Hurricanes attack. In the process, he also shattered the record for the highest individual score in BBL history. Surpassing Stoinis’s 147 a few years ago. Such was the magnitude of his knock that Stoinis’s 31 balls 75 has slid under the radar.

Hurricanes never looked to be in this chase, to be honest, they kept swinging and chipping away but never looked threatening enough to cause a worry in the Stars camp let alone chase this down. More than the loss it’s the psychological blow that will hurt. The real question is will they be able to shake this off come the Eliminator on Friday.

Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunders, Adelaide Strikers, and Hobart Hurricanes make it to the next stage. Join us for the Play-offs starting Friday as we bring you all the live-action. Until then this was Anmol Ahuja along with my fellow commentators Ninnad Dixit and AkshayKrishna Polya. Take care, Tata..!!
