So,  this is it from the only BBL game of today. The Strikers have beaten the crowned toppers, Perth Scorchers with 6 wickets in hand and three overs to spare. I hope you enjoyed the coverage from us. Now, it's time to bid adieu from Arijit Kundu, and fellow commentators, Akshay Bhide and Ayan Chatterjee.
Fawad Ahmed | Player of the match: "It's good to be back. I'm playing with a fractured rib but good to contribute to the team's success. I have been working hard in the nets and it hasn't been an ideal season for me but good to be back in the wickets. I picked up the injury against the Renegades. So missed out on a couple of games. It was swollen and it is hurting a lot. I can't dive and bend much but I'm trying my best. Hopefully, I can bowl well in the last two games and contribute to wins."
Peter Siddle| Winning captain: "Yeah offcourse , all games are important for us in this part of the season. The bowlers, all of them bowled well and did a good job. Yeah, definitely, that's a bonus isn't it(on return of Carey and Head after Ashes). Another big game tomorrow and we'll look to do the best to get a win. Yeah, it's good fun haha!! Harry and I really enjoy our time. Helps us with our cricket. With Cameron White its three-omega together. Yeah,. we are pleased with Henry Conway. Bowls good pace, and has good knowledge of the game. He stepped up in night too and did well. I obviously always looks great. The test match has always been hard under night(on the ashes)."
Back-to-back wins for the Strikers and they rank up the points table with 20 points from 12 matches. The Strikers really did well in all the departments today and outplayed the table toppers. Not the first time that they beat the Scorchers but this was a must-needed one to keep the momentum going.

Earlier in the game, Peter Siddle, the stand-in skipper for Travis Head, won the toss and opted to field first. The Scorchers were put on the back foot straightaway after they lost both their openers within the mandatory powerplay. Fawad Ahmed and Peter Siddle did the job for them removing Jack Hobson and Kurtis Patterson. Skipper Ashton Turner and wicketkeeper, Laurie Evans added some valuable contributions by counterattacks. Both batters smacked some sixes all around the ground and added 48 runs for the third wicket partnership. Scorchers were 80-3 after 10 overs then and the wickets started to tumble after this. Fawad Ahmed, Peter Siddle, and Thornton wreak havoc in their lower middle order and eliminated all of them except the 10th pair. All Scorchers could fetch was 127 runs in 20 overs with Fawad Ahmed starting the ball with a three-for.

In reply, the Strikers' openers Matt Short and Henry Hunt fared quite well attacking the bowlers in freebies and playing some fantastic shots. Both batters summed up 38 runs from the mandatory powerplay with 9.50 runs per over. They kept the scoreboard ticking over with singles and doubles, and some occasional boundaries. After 52 runs in 7 overs, Peter Hatzoglou came in and got the breakthrough. He departed the dangerous Matt Short for 32 of 28 balls. 26 more runs were added on the board following this and then it was the other opener, Henry Hunt who got dismissed to Aaron Hardie, trying to go across the line for a pull.

The Strikers incurred blows in such a pattern that after every two overs, a wicket was falling. It has Ian Cockbain who jolted the innings from one end and kept minimizing the required runs. Matt Kelly burst a short cameo of 14 runs from 9 balls with Ian Cockbain hitting the match-winning runs with three overs to spare.
