This is it from the live coverage as Jamaica Tallawah's start the tournament with a bang. A massive 120 runs victory for Andre Russell and his boys. I hope you've enjoyed the coverage and it's time for me(Arijit), and my co-commentators- Anurag Singh, and Arjun Bhalla to bid goodbye to all of you.
Rovman Powell(Winning captain): "Pretty satisfied [with the record score on the ground]… We know Andre is a world-class player. We try to keep him happy. Pretorius got wickets in the powerplay. I think we are still thinking to get forward, and not get carried away. The boundaries and short, and wind is a factor… "
Faf du Plessis | Losing captain - "Our bowling was a little disappointing, but can't blame them, a lot of guys are in with very little match practice. The wind is a factor as well, we were average in the first six overs, then pulled things back in and then Andre Russell came in. Chasing 255, you had to go hard and we lost wickets in doing so. When you lose in such a manner, you'd question a few things, but with the resources in hand, we need to plan well for the next few matches and come back strong"
Andre Russel(Player of the match): "Just got there with a clear frame of fine. Kennar really set the tone for us. Well played by the boys. As a big hitter, I come low down... Nine times out of ten I think I can do what I did today. They call this ground the bullring. It is a small ground, so once you are off target, you are bound to get hit. When I bowl a short ball, I jerk it [the ankle] a bit. When I go back to the hotel, some ice on it..."
Player of the Match: Andre Russell.
With the help of Tim David's 56 of 28 deliveries and Wahab Riaz's 28 of 29 balls, St. Lucia Kings managed to reach a total of 135 runs. Imran Khan was quick enough to ponder on the tail and rattle the last few wickets in his wickets column.

Miguel Pretorious scalped a four-fer and Imran Khan bagged a three-fer in tonight's affair. Andre Russell and Chris Green bagged a wicket each and one wicket was received in the form of a runout.
Arriving to chase a hefty total of 256, Cornwell banged in two fours and a six halfway through the first over. He was dismissed in the very next ball trying to slog a short ball in the same direction. Miguel Pretorious struck well in the powerplay, picking up three vital wickets of Rakheem Cornwall, Faf Du Plessis, and Roston Chase.

Du Plessis didn't have a pleasant return to cricket after three months from the concussion injury at PSL as he was dismissed for a duck. Soon, Andre Fletcher, Mark Dyal, and Keemo Paul followed them back to the hut, and KIngs were put down to 56-6 after 5.1 overs. Tim David stood up firm and saved them from a shattering collapse.
Powell and Haider Ali were the next to glue a vital partnership again. The ball was coming to the bat quite easily and both of them boosted the total by fetching boundaries and over boundaries at regular intervals. Powell was in a Hulk mode smashing everything even the shoulder-high no-balls out of the park. Following this, Obed McCoy came back at the slog overs and soon bagged three wickets in one single over.

But it didn't really seem like a setback to them as Andre Russell tore apart the Kings' bowlers by smashing 6 sixes and three boundaries in the last few overs. He rattled an unbridled 50 from just 14 deliveries and took the total to 255-5. He clobbered 32 runs off the penultimate over against the experienced Wahab Riaz whose figures saw 61-0 (in 3 overs) at the end of innings.
Earlier in the game, St. Lucia Kings had won the toss and elected to field first. The Kings didn't start the innings on a pleasant note as they conceded 10+ runs in the first over itself. Walton and Kennar Lewis took the bowlers apart in the powerplay. The duo recorded 81 runs stand in the first 6 overs. They lost the wicket of Lewis right in the last ball of the powerplay. As soon as Lewis was dismissed, Walton took charge and played a mesmerizing knock of 47 from just 29 balls.
And that is it from the run-chase as the Tallawahs bring up the victory by a massive 120 runs margin. 255 on the board was a tough total to chase within 20 overs on any ground in the world and the St. Lucia Kings have somewhat succumbed to the hefty score here. None of the batters except Tim David could stand firm in front of the bowling attack of Jamaica Tallawahs.  Andre Russell and the boys will be exhilarated to start the campaign with this thumping victory.
