That's it for today from the Big Bash. Do join us for the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Badal Pareek signing it off along with my Co-commentator, Arijit Kundu.
Matt Short| Player of the match: "Must be some pep talk before the game. Ah, the plan was to go easy and simple. Yeah, I was using my height to get the purchase. we just played our natural game, get the wickets early and put pressure on them. Good to get our second win. Siddle was great, getting a fifer. The bowlers were good to get rid of a few dangerous openers of them. I think its good to get a win against a class side."
Siddle won the toss for the Strikers and decided to bowl first. They backed up the decision to bowl first with their performance. Siddle and his boys managed to bowl the Hurricanes out for 126 in 19.5 overs. Siddle led the charge by picking up 5 wickets and Rashid played a nice supporting role to his skipper. Rain was pouring all throughout the first innings which made it a touch difficult for the Hurricanes to defend a below-par total. The Strikers got off to a flyer, thanks to Matthew Short who went bang from the start. He carried on through the innings and guided his team to victory. Short remained not out on 72,  helping his team chase down the total in 15.1 overs.
Hurricanes could only manage to pick up three wickets and never really got into the thick of the things. Strikers were good with both bat and ball, and they will hope to continue with it in their upcoming fixtures.

15.1 M Owen to M Short
4 Short ball into Short and the latter pulls it wide of the fine leg region and gets a healthy boundary to take his side to glory. Not really an ideal delivery to bowl at a set batter. An absolute cracker of an innings from him today.

14.5 D Short to J Wells
W Gone!! A spectacular catch. A half tracker from the bowler and the right hander looks to slap it in front of square leg. Owen dives to his left and takes a stunner.
