That's a wrap to our coverage of Match 33 of BBL 2021-22 season where the Renegades prevailed over depleted Stars at the MCG. Stay tuned for more cricket coming your way around the globe happening in our network. This is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off from this game on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Badal Pareek. Till next time, stay safe, happy, and cool, and get vaccinated if you still haven't. We will see you soon. TA-TA! Adios.
Kane Richardson (Player of the Match): "It is a bitter-sweet feeling, I'm feeling for the boys who are not there tonight. Thoughts are with the boys, we know the game has to go on but it doesn't feel right. I did not even know if I was playing tonight, just turn up and get on with the show, and playing the game seems to be the way now. I don't know what the answer is, but you want the best players playing. It was a nice, weird game, and looking at their side we knew Maxi and Hilton were the big wickets and once we got them we knew their team was pretty inexperienced who hadn't played much cricket. But as I said it was a weird game to be part of. Again a pretty young side, we will have to see how we go."
Kane Richardson has been named the Player of the Match Award for his figures of 3-24 which included a wicket maiden in the Power Surge. Quite unbelievable performance giving the Renegades a much-needed win.
That's it the Melbourne Renegades get their much-needed win as they win by 5 wickets in this Derby at the MCG as the Stars lose with 2 wickets in hand. They get 4 points to their kitty as they climb upwards in the table. 126 was never going to be enough and once Finch and Marsh got going this was a mere formality. The Stars bowlers tried to come back but Harvey down the order sealed it and relieved a lot of panics around.

Aaron Finch top-scored with 50 off 40 balls. Shaun Marsh on his comeback chipped in with 21 off 17 balls. Harvey chipped in with an unbeaten 23 off 25 balls, Seymour chipped in with 17 in the end. For the Stars, A wicket apiece for Daniyal, Ahmad, and Haris Rauf while Connell chipped in with a couple of wickets.

Stars earlier in the day could muster only 126 which was around 20 short on that pitch. Cartwright top-scored with 41 off 29 balls. Travis Dean chipped in with 32 off 26 balls. But nobody else stood up for the Stars and one has to say they had an inexperienced line-up. For the Renegades, it was 3 wickets apiece for Richardson, captain Nic Maddinson and Reece Topley the Englishman, and a wicket also Jack Prestwidge. Mohammed Nabi had a day to forget with his 2 overs going for 20 runs and getting out for a golden duck.

So, a win for the Renegades by 5 wickets with 2 overs to spare takes them to 6th in the table from the bottom with 11 points. Stars slip to 7th with 10 points. The Strikers are right at the bottom. Renegades getting all 4 points here. Stay tuned to find out the Player of the Match award.

4 Width on offer and here comes the winning runs for the Renegades. Full and wide, quicker one from Harris and Harvey slashes it past the point region. He jabs the cork to help it roll through the vacant deep region and kiss the fences. The losing streak of Melbourne Renegades is finally broken.
17.5 H Rauf to M Harvey
0 Short ball down the leg peg and the batter ducks underneath. Surprised that its not given a wide.
17.4 H Rauf to M Harvey
0 Touch short and the batter nabs it down by covering the angle with a slanted blade.
17.3 H Rauf to J Seymour
1 On the hard length again, angling at the southpaw. Seymour taps it down near mid on and scampers for a quick single.
17.2 H Rauf to M Harvey
1lb On the hard length now leaving the middle and off line. Harvey looks to turn it down with a horizontally angled blade. He gets beaten and the cork bellows him on the pad. They get a single as an overthrow.
17.1 H Rauf to M Harvey
0 Length delivery angling in at the left hander. Harvey covers his middle and off, taps it down and gets none.

0 On a length this time near the off, and the batter nudges it around.
16.4 Q Ahmad to J Seymour
4 works the reverse sweep wittily this time. He waits for the fuller one, and therefore reverse sweeps it over the short 3rd man fielder for a glorious boundary. Comes underneath the ball and times it well.
16.3 Q Ahmad to J Seymour
2 Flighted delivery on the woods, and the  batter shimmies down and hits it over the bowler for a double.
16.2 Q Ahmad to M Harvey
1 Little width outside the off and Harvey punches it down with gentle hand on the offside,.
16.1 Q Ahmad to M Harvey
