That's a wrap of our coverage of this game. This is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off on behalf of my commentators Arijit Kundu and Ajay Ahire. Tata. Bye Bye. Happy New Year to everyone from us at OneCricket and Cricket Exchange.
Jason Sangha (Player of the match): "It was pretty tough at first. I was pretty lucky at times, had  a bit of luck, been dropped a few. But yeah was a good night. It was a long time I've played. I've batted at the nets, the bubble there. I've had a good support from few people of the Thunders, Anthony Clarke and others. I am hoping to keep the momentum at the back end of the season as well. Thank you."
Akshay: A good all-around performance sees Sydney Thunder hand the Adelaide Strikers another defeat. Jason Sangha led the charge with the bat in the first innings and the bowlers then stepped up and backed up their bowlers to restrict the Strikers to 165, winning the game by 22 runs.

Sydney Thunder skipper Chris Green won the toss and opted to bat first. With players missing out due to Covid concerns, it was Ben Cutting walking out to open the batting with Matthew Gilkes. Both got the Thunder off to a good start, with Cutting hitting some lusty blows early in the innings. The Strikers pulled back things by dismissing both of them. Jason Sangha along with Oliver Davies put on a solid partnership in the end, with the former doing the most of the scoring as they finished with a flourish. Sangha remained unbeaten on 91 to power the Thunder to 187. Davies also looked good for his 26 off just 12 balls.

It was always going to be an uphill task ahead of the Strikers. Matthew Short was dismissed early in the innings and Renshaw along with Weatherald tried to put a partnership. Renshaw looked good for his 38 but his departure in the 11th over led to a mini-collapse. The Strikers couldn’t recover as they fell short by 22 runs. Jonathan Wells tried hard and top-scored with 46 but eventually couldn't take his side across the line. Saqib Mahmood picked up two wickets and Daniel Sams picked up four wickets as it helped them defend the total successfully.

19.6 D Sams to H Nielsen
2 Quick and fast near the off peg and the batter shuffles across the line, sts in front and looks to ramp it over widish fine leg. He doesn't generate enough power and gets a double to end things here at the Adelaide Oval. The Thunders win by 22 runs and Strikers are on a five-match losing streak now.
19.5 D Sams to D Worrall
1 Full and wide, dished slower now and the batter slaps it down to deep point for a single.

19.4 D Sams to R Khan
W Edged and taken!! Banged in the deck hard, and the batter swings and edges this time. The cork balloons up a bit and the keeper takes a lollipop catch. Rashid Khan departs for a golden duck. Sams gets his second wicket of the over.
19.3 D Sams to H Nielsen
1 Full and straight  and the batter tucks it down the ground for a single now.

19.2 D Sams to J Wells
W Full and wide from Dan Sams and he gets rid of the dangerous Jon Wells. Wells drags his arms at it, and doesnt get enough to clear the ropes this time. Its aired up straight to McAndrew at deep point who takes the catch safely.
19.1 D Sams to H Nielsen
1 A single to start the over. Wells back on strike. Short on the pegs and the batter pulls this down to midwicket.

18.6 N McAndrew to J Wells
4 Quick and full wide outside the offstump now and the batter goes deepen inside the crease  and thrashes this through the extra cover region for a lovely boundary. They are still in it!  Still in it! 28 runs needed from the last over.
18.5 N McAndrew to J Wells
0 A very good delivery from McAndrew as he drags the length back this time, much wider of the off-stump line. Wells goes back and away and misses a blade on the swing.
18.4 N McAndrew to J Wells
2 Wells flicks this one backward of square leg and hastens for a double now. Drags the line down the leg stump, and dishes on the same length.
18.3 N McAndrew to J Wells
0 Quick and full, straighter at the pegs. The batter hits it straight back at the timbers. Gets none.
