This is it from the live coverage. Hope all of you have enjoyed it. We are just four hours away from the next game where Chris Gayle and co. will be in action against Jason Holder's Barbados Royals. Until then, signing off, Arijit Kundu and Anurag Singh from the onecricket commentary panel.
Nicholas Pooran(winning captaIN, Guyana Amazon Warriors):
"I don't win tosses but toss doesn't decide results. That said, we wanted to start the season well since TKR are a good team. It was tough for us at the beginning, but we fought till the end. Hetty played well, as did Odean Smith. We thought if Odean plays he may bat at No. 8 but in the powerplay, we thought he can do something at No. 3. On a track like this, our spinners did well, and we kept staying in the game with the wickets. Bit disappointed with our last over with the ball."
Kieron Pollard(Losing captain- Trinbago Knight Riders):
"I thought we gave them too many runs, dropped a few catches at the back end. Then we lost wickets in clusters. Only have ourselves to blame for not getting over the line. I knew 140 to chase, we were right in the game despite how the wicket might have played. Positives are we bowled well for 18 overs, Ramdin and Seifert had a good batting day."
Player of the Match- Odean Smith for his 2 for 10 with the ball and 15-ball 24 with the bat.

"Wicket was not easy to bat on, wanted to just make full use. My message was to go out and go for it whenever the ball was in my area. It was difficult to bat on so I knew their batters would have it tough to. A win early on is a good opportunity to move forward strong.
At the latter half of the chase, Dinesh Ramdin was the only solitary batsman present, to chase 33 runs from 14 deliveries. Romario Shepherd scalped the wicket of Dinesh Ramdin in the second ball of the 19th over and followed it with four dot balls. The 19th over was a wicket maiden from him. Naveen Ul Haq summed up the last over by bagging the wicket of Ravi Rampaul and giving away 15 runs. Ramdin was the highest runscorer for the Riders with 28 runs from 25 deliveries. Meanwhile, Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers for the warriors, bagging three wickets in his three overs and giving away just fifteen runs.
Coming to chase, the Riders lost a few early wickets in the powerplay. Simmons fell trapped to a full-pitched delivery from Romario Shepherd and Colin Munro could not resist himself to play shots against the part-time spinner, Md. Hafeez. Sunil Narine was looking good in the powerplay but got could not continue further.

Wickets kept on tumbling in regular intervals after the powerplay and the Warriors didn't give away even an inch in the field. Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd managed to put the lower middle order on the backfoot by bagging wickets of Kieron pollard and  Isuru Udana with shorter deliveries outside the offstump line.
Narine and Akeal were stupendous with the ball in hand as both the men gave away just 17 runs and picked up 2 wickets each, from their full quota.

Shimron Hetmyer was the lone warrior for the Warriors in the 1st innings as he managed to find the gaps and keep the scoreboard ticking. He went onto rattle 54 of just 41 deliveries with four boundaries and two sixes to his name. The seamers came in at the death and used the slower ones very effectively. But a decent fightback from Shimron Hetmyer at the end helped the Warriors cross the 140-run mark and reach a commendable total.
Earlier in the game, Kieron pollard of Trinbago Knight riders won the toss and put the Warriors to bat first. Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj opened the batting for the Warriors against the teenage sensation, Jayden Seales. We got to see a good amount of swing offered from the pitch in the powerplay. Both the openers looked struggling and were sent back to the hut in no time.

Brandon King failed to get going and his short stay was put to an end by Akeal Hosein. Surprisingly,  Odean Smith came in to bat one down and dealt few heavy blows before he was cleaned up by mystery spinner, Sunil Narine. The batsmen found it really difficult to judge the pace of the pitch and the spinners took advantage of it as well, along with the seamers.
Too little too late. Despite finishing the innings with back-to-back sixes, the defending champions have failed to chase a frail total of 143 runs in 20 overs. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have been outstanding in the field and the bowlers have perfected the line and length with ease to seaoff a victory in the 1st game of the tournament. They have managed to scalp wickets at regular intervals and did not let the big guns of TKR settle.

6 SIXX!! Too little, too late for the Knight Riders. Another fuller one in the slot to Akeal who muscles this over long on for a flat six. Nonetheless, Pooran and co take the victory over the defending champions quite comfortably.
19.5 Naveen-ul-Haq to A Hosein
6 SIXXX!! That was in the slot to Akeal and he has launched that into the stands. Full in the arc to Akeal who pulls out the heave and smacks it over mid wicket fence.

W OUTT!!! Another one bites the dust and another soft dismissal. Short, wide and slow outside off to Rampaul who toe end this straight to Pooran behind the stumps.
19.3 Naveen-ul-Haq to A Hosein
1 Slower length delivery angling across, Akeal moves inside and miscues the pull towards long on for one.
19.2 Naveen-ul-Haq to R Rampaul
1 Nails in a yorker on off, Rampual digs it long off for a single.
19.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to A Hosein
1 Full delivery in the slot to Akeal who smacks the free hit straight down the throat of deep mid wicket and rotates the strike.
19.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to A Hosein
NB6 SIXX!!! That has been dispatched to the second tier and it's a no ball as well., Length delivery angling across, Akeal stands tall and muscles this over the long-on fence for a maximum.
