That's it for the game! Thank you for being with us as we'll soon be back with more cricketing action and live coverage. Until then, do take really good care of yourselves!

So that's that and it's the Melbourne Stars that have registered a win by 20 runs.

Batting first the Melbourne Stars posted a daunting target of 207/9 in 20 overs.

It was an underwhelming start for the Stars as they lost three quick wickets for just 16 runs. Marcus Stoinis departed for zero after getting out, caught behind in the very first over by Mark Steketee. Joe Burns and Glenn Maxwell were also dismissed for two runs each in quick succession by Liam Guthrie.

At this stage, Brisbane Heat was all over the Stars like a rash. However, that’s where the table turned as Joe Clarke and Hilton Cartwright struck the partnership of the season. Both individuals came together to compile a breathtaking 151 run stand for the fourth wicket.

Hilton Cartwright played a breezy knock of 79 (44), which included a four and eight sixes. Meanwhile, Joe Clarke stormed his way through 85 (44) with seven fours and five sixes to his name.

Liam Guthrie did pick up two wickets but conceded a staggering 70 runs from four overs. Mark Steketee picked up three wickets for four runs. James Bazley also chipped in with two for 40.

The run chase wasn’t off to a great start as Brisbane Heat lost two wickets for 12 runs. Brody Couch dismissed both Max Bryant and Tom Cooper which gave Melbourne Stars a further advantage. Chris Lynn and Ben Duckett powered their way to a 77 runs partnership from nine overs to get their side back into the game. Ben Duckett scored 54 (35) before getting out caught in Nathan Coulter Nile’s over. As for Chris Lynn, he looked to add the pressure but was dismissed to Qais Ahmed thanks to a terrific catch taken by Andre Russell against the run of play. Lynn had to walk back for 54 (35).

Same Heazlett played a brief cameo of 26 (15) in the middle, while the remaining batsmen down the order didn’t have much to offer.

Heat was eventually restricted to 187/9 from 20 overs.

Qais Ahmad topped the charts with his spell of three for 26, while, Brody Couch also contributed with three wickets for 34 runs in three overs. Nathan Coulter Nile and Adam Zampa chipped in with a wicket apiece.

The Brisbane Heat will be disappointed to not able to capitalize after bagging three early wickets in the first innings, whereas, the Stars will be extremely satisfied with the way they displayed great character to get the much needed 'W'
