Wow. Alyssa Healy has lit up the opening night of WBBL 7. And the season has just begun. We'll bring you all the exciting action as it happens. An exciting double header coming up on Saturday. Do join us for that. Till then, it's me Tushar Garg signing off, along with my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Farzan Mohammed. It has been a pleasure bringing this opening game of Women Big Bash League.
Alyssa Healy is the Player of the Match for her scintillating knock of 57 off 27 balls.

Sydney Sixers open their campaign with a win, despite their bowlers not taking a single wicket on the night. 100 off 11 overs can be a tricky and challenging target, but not if Alyssa Healy plays the way she did tonight. She struck eleven scintillating boundaries in her imperious knock of 57 to single handedly guide her team to a win on the season’s opening night. Such was the impact of Healy’s innings, that they cruised to a marching win with no other Sixers’ batters getting to double figures.

At the halfway innings, Stars would have felt they were in with a great chance. Villani and Lanning played decent cameos after put in to bat first. But they were completely undone by Healy’s brilliance.

10.2 A Lanning to A Reakes
2 Short delivery outside off stump, Reakes clubs it straight over the bowler's head. They get an easy double to take home full points and start their WBBL 2021 campaign with an easy victory.
10.1 A Lanning to A Reakes
0 Length ball angling away from the off stump, Reakes doesn't read the delivery well and fails to get it connected.
So we are down to the last over. Sixers need 2 runs from the last over. Anna Lanning to bowl. Reakes on strike.

9.6 R McKenna to N Bolton
1+1 A double to finish off the over. Back of length delivery on the stumps, Bolton  tucks it towards short mid-wicket and takes a single. A direct hit & share would have been a gonner. An overthrow allows the batters to get another run off the delivery.
9.5 R McKenna to A Reakes
1 Short delivery again outside off, Reakes plays it towards point. The batters scamper for a single.

9.4 R McKenna to E Perry
W OUT! Short delivery on the off, Perry looks to play it towards short mid-wicket but sends the ball into Lanning's hands. The fielder takes a screamer to remove Perry at a crucial stage.
9.3 R McKenna to N Bolton
1 Back of a length delivery flicked towards the square leg region for a single.
9.2 R McKenna to N Bolton
4 FOUR! Low Full toss a bit outside off, Bolton reaches to it and hammers it in the gap between cover and point. There's no stopping as the ball races away to the boundary for four runs.
9.1 R McKenna to E Perry
1 A single to start off the over. Back of a length on the middle stump and Perry tucks it deep-square leg region for a boundary.
