Time for me to sign off from the commentary box. This is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Rohit Yadav and Wali. Till next time, stay safe, happy, and cool, and get vaccinated if you already haven't. We will catch up with you soon. TA-TA, Goodbye and ADIOS!
Wes Agar, Player of the Match: "We are bowling well at the moment, and we were pretty good with our change-ups, especially against Harper. It's a matter of putting the pressure on and we do have a good bowling lineup that is capable of doing that. We knew we could defend the total, we had the confidence, it was just a matter of getting that energy level up. The main thing is to keep things simple, I think I bowl well when I don't complicate things. We have a wealth of experience with Siddle on the side, and that helps us. There was a period when they needed around 8.5, and by the end of Rashid's over, the run rate was up to 10. Having a player of that caliber is also an advantage. "
Wes Agar has been adjudged the Player of the Match Award for his spell of 3-17 in 4 overs.
Rohit: Once again Strikers live upto the expectations of defending a low total which isn't a norm here at Adelaide. Like many times Rashid Khan (2/17) has done the bulk of damage.
Ayan:- That ladies and gentlemen are that. The Strikers defend this total very well as they thrash the Renegades by 49 runs to get their first win of the campaign. Sweet revenge for the loss a few nights ago. This match was a one-sided affair though. The Renegades were 1-59 at one stage in this 150 chase but they have collapsed in a heap to be bowled out for 100 in 18.4 overs. A win by 49 runs.

It was Rashid Khan once again leading from the front with his 2-17 in 4 overs. Wes Agar was also brilliant in his 3-17 and the other bowlers led by Peter Siddle chipped in as well. Worall and the likes all did well. The Strikers who themselves collapsed to 149 showed why they are such a good defending team.

Earlier today Short and Weatherald started well before Zahir Khan and Richardson pulled it back with 2 and 4 wickets to restrict the Strikers to 149 all out in 19 overs. We shall not forget Reece Topley's 3fer but all those efforts turned out to be in vain.

Sam Harper and Harvey gave the Renegades a great start but the innings fell away as it was evident that the run-scoring became difficult as the ball got softer in both the innings. The pitch in general looked decent to bat on. But batting post the 6 overs left a lot to be desired for both the teams.

So, a win by 49 runs for the Adelaide Strikers as they win the Bash Point as well. 4 points to their kitty. 0 for the Renegades today. Stick around for the Player of the Match Award.
