DG: Earlier in the day, some tight bowling from the Warriors tighten the screws on the scoring rate and restricted the power-packed Super Gillies to a mere 132, which in the end was not enough to stop the Warriors from topping the table. Both teams have already qualified and will again meet on Tuesday in Qualifier 1.
DG: Chasing a relatively easy total of 133, the Warriors were jolted with an early wicket of Amith Sathvik. But Santosh Shiv and Nidhish Rajagopal resurrected the innings and started the counter-attack. Rajagopal in particular looked threatening and started to open up a bit after facing 10 deliveries. Shiv looked good while he was out in the middle, but he was brilliantly foxed by Alexander and the talented batter departed for 25. The pitch was on a slower side and spinners were introduced inside the powerplay. But Rajagopal kept his cool and kept the scoreboard ticking. He eventually reached a well compiled half-century and steered his side past the victory line with 5 balls to spare.
DG: That’s it, the match has ended and it has been a comfortable victory for the Warriors. They have won this game by 8 wickets and have also moved to the top of the points tally. A sensational chase by them, led by a sensational innings from Nidhish Rajagopal.
