Milestone
That brings our coverage of this match to an end. This is me Kingshuk Kusari signing off on behalf of my colleagues Arjun Bhalla and Akshay Bhide. Do join us for the coverage of the second game in the TNPL double header and the Hundred tonight.
Shahrukh Khan has been awarded the man of the match.
Just when it seemed everything was over, it was the Nellai captain's twin brother Baba Indrajith who took the game to Kovai and launched a counter attack. He was ably supported by an exceptional innings from Jitendra Kumar who provided the impetus late in the innings, scoring 20 of just 9 deliveries. At the end though, it would not be good enough with Nellai losing quick wickets in the final couple of overs. After their registered 20 overs, they would fall short by just 7 runs.
Later in the day, Kovai did very well to check runs after Nellai started attacking in the early overs, courtesy, Baba Aparajith who scored 28 off 21 balls. Kovai made sure that they picked the three wickets very early in the game, and from there it was just about seeing out the game. They executed the mid-block to perfection and took pace off the ball, giving nothing for the batsmen to operate on.
On the day, it was Shahrukh Khan who turned out to be the difference between the two teams, smoking Nellai for 64 runs in just 24 balls. He was singlehandedly responsible for Kovai's acceleration in the second phase of the game, after they were reeling at 76-4 in 12 overs.
Kovai have pulled it back from the depths of defeat. After getting run over in the first 10 overs of the match, Kovai have absolutely runover Nellai Royal Kings in their final league game of this season. Shahrukh Khan and his men have done enough to get themselves into the top four of the league and will qualify with better run rate. They are tied with their today's rivals Nellai in terms of points, but have a much better run-rate going into the playoff phases of the tournament.

19.6 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
6 Tonks that for a maximum but it is Lyca Kovai Kings who have sealed the deal. Full toss delivery outside off, enough for Indrajith. The batter jumps down and picks the ball perfectly and times it flats just over the fence at deep mid wicket for a maximum to end their 20 overs. However, it is Lyca Kovia Kings who are into the playoffs.
19.5 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
0 DOT BALL AND THE GAME IS OVER FOR ROYAL KINGS! Fuller ball outside the off-stump, Indrajith goes with hard hands and gets an inside edge onto the pad.
19.4 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
4 Now a boundary. Too little too late for Indrajith. He hammers it straight down the ground. Low full toss outside the off-stump, hits it straight over the bowler's head.
19.3 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
0 Another brilliant ball that. Indrajith moves across in the offside as he tries to ramp him but that was a pin point yorker on the stump and gets inside edge onto his pad.
19.2 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
0 Well bowled that. Into the blockhole. Full outside off and Indrajith plays it in the offside towards cover and still no runs.
19.1 A Tanwar to B Indrajith
0 Dot ball to start off the last over. Full ball outside the off-stump, drives it down to long-on. Indrajith denies the single.

W HIGH IN THE AIR AND HARISH HOLES IT OUT TO LONG-OFF. Wicket and a dot ball. Pressure on Nellai Royal Kings. Full toss delivery well outside off, Harish puts his front knee down and goes for the long ball over the long off fielder, but no not today. Gets the toe end of the bat. Gets a lot of elevation but holds out to the fielder in the deep. Baba Indrajith will be on strike for the last over.
18.5 R Divakar to B Indrajith
1 Slower length ball that outside off and Indrajith sits back and then pulls it to deep mid wicket for just a single. They need much more than that.
18.4 R Divakar to N Harish
1 Full and wide and Harish puts bat on the ball and knocks it to long-off for a single to the tally. More importantly, Indrajith back in business.
18.4 R Divakar to N Harish
WD Now it is a wide delivery. Too full well outside off as the bowler flirts with the tramline. Misses it and wide ball that.
