Milestone
That's all from today's game. There is a lot of cricketing action going on in this weekend. Do switch over to The Hundred or to the second game of the TNPL, where our commentators would be taking you live through the game. This is me, Kingshuk Kusari signing off on behalf of Karthik Raj and Arijit Kundu.
Losing captain | Kaushik Gandhi - I am disappointed that we did not fire overall. It was not a good batting display from us and in terms of bowling we did not hit our lines. We need to make sure that we do not make the same mistakes again.
Winning captain | Baba Aparajith - I wanted to take this game as deep as possible. I knew that if I had stayed there in the last 5 overs, 55-60 could have been possible. Kudos to Pradosh for showing such character and I am happy that we have ended up on the right side today.
MOM | Pradosh Paul - I will take it as a huge booster for my game. This moment has come late in my career, but I am happy that it is here. I would like to thank my captain and my team management for trusting in me.
Earlier in the day, it was Narayan Jagdeesan with another scintilating innings that helped Chepauk post a big total, something that seemed good enough at the time. After starting off slowly and soaking in a lot of balls, he scored a mammoth 95 off just 70 balls. He did not receive much support throughout his innings, but timed himself well to finish on a high. But at the end of the day, it would not turn out to be enough as Nellai would start on a positive note owing to the likes of Baba Aparajith and Pradosh Paul and eventually they would see it through for the most part of the innings.
Both teams looked to have difficulties, with batsmen taking time to adjust to the track, bowlers struggling to find the lines with the lack of movement and the spinners finding it hard to earn much purchase. But it was a young 20-year-old who put his foot down and said, 'well you know what, I am going to take you through.' And he almost did. Pradosh Ranjan Paul en-route his brilliant 62, showed the Nellai management why he is so highly rated in the TN circuit. He was ably supported by the experienced Baba Aparajith who anchored his team. At that time he fell off a short delivery, Baba Indrajith walked into bat. And just when things seemed a little tentative, he absolutely smashed a six from the middle of his bat and called curtains.
The first day game of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, and my God what a match it has been. A last over thriller that brought edge of the seat action to its viewers. It was the kind of game where nothing comes easy for the players and they are made to work very hard for what they want to achieve and at the end of the day, it was the Nellai Royal Kings that trounced the Chepauk Super Gillies with two balls to spare.
19.4 D Rahul to B Indrajith
6 What a way to finish it off!!! Full-toss, Indrajith moves to the off-side and lofts it over wide long-on for a maximum. With this, Nellai Royal Kings seal a seven-wicket victory with two balls to spare
19.4 D Rahul to B Indrajith
WD Short and outside the tramline, Indrajith lets it go to the keeper. Wide called. Five needed off three balls now

19.3 D Rahul to Paul
W Wicket!! Short and down leg, Pradosh looks to pull but he only ends up gloving it to Narayan Jagadeesan behind the stumps. Fortunate wicket for Dev Rahul and Chepauk Super Gillies but they take it any which way.
19.2 D Rahul to Paul
0 Full and slow outside-off, Pradosh moves to the leg-side and swings but he can't connect. Six needed off four balls now
19.1 D Rahul to Yadav
1 Low full-toss, Sanjay looks to carve it but he bottom-edges it. A quick single taken although the bowler tried his best to make a run-out.

Kingshuk: A brilliant over for Nellai comes to an end. They undid their mistakes straight away in this one and got off to a good start by not conceding dot balls. From their it was just about picking the balls to hit. And boy did they do that well. 7 off 5 required.

WD Sonu Yadav goes for a wide yorker and Sanjay leaves it. The umpire signals a wide but Chepauk aren't happy.
Kingshuk: In the battle of the brothers, Sanjay Yadav has just taken a huge stride. Big six in a crucial moment of the game.
