With a heavy heart, we will take your leave but only to join you tomorrow with some more exciting batting and bowling performances. Until then it is Vikhyat Jain signing off on behalf of Anurag Singh and Arijit Kundu. Cheers!!
But shortly before the rain, Salem Spartans made a late entry with Periyaswamy providing two quick wickets and ensuring that there was damage control done during the death overs. The game was set for a thrilling finish had the rain clouds not burst out on the scenes.
Batting first, Lyca Kavai Kings were off with a rollicking start with Ganga Sridhar Raju firing all cylinders right from the word go. But the main story started after his departure and the arrival of Sai Sudharsan who put a real treat for the fans. He blasted 87 runs off mere 43 balls and laid the perfect foundation for the other members to end the innings on a high.
So, this is surely not the start the TNPL supporters wanted. The rain has marred the season opener and even the relentless groundsmen could not fetch us a game!! But one thing is for sure, this year is going to be a blast with some glimpses of it already being put up on rendition by the two teams.

10:15 pm: Update: Still raining heavily at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
09:06 pm: Covers are being brought on here at the ground. A slight drizzle has put a halt to this game. The rain is getting heavier now, looks like there might be some delay.
W WICKET!!! Another wicket, two back-to-back wickets and suddenly the game has changed its course, another slower ball which the batsman gets it from the toe end of the bat to the long-on region and the fielder does the rest eaisly
W WICKET!!! What a catch in the deep to dismiss the dangerous Shahrukh Khan!!! On the good length and was slower as well, Khan swings hard at it but gets it from the lower end of the bat to the long-on region where the fielder puts in the dive to swallow a good catch
