That brings us to an end of our coverage for the 3rd and the final ODI. Do join our live coverage for the 'Hundred' which is currently under way. Till the next time' it's adieus from Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Arjun Bhalla.
Shikhar Dhawan will pick up the trophy and pose for photographs with his team members.
Shikhar Dhawan- Things didn't go our way after the rain delay. We tried new faces in this game. I feel we had a good start but lost too many wickets in the middle. We were 50 runs short. I am glad that they made their debuts because everyone has been in quarantine for such a long time. We had a n opportunity to give opportunities to some young blokes. I am okay with missing the century and I am open to analyse and change accordingly. Yeah we were positive about defending the target and we knew at the same time that we were 50 runs short. I am proud of how the boys fought. If we keep learning from it we will get better in the next matches.
Shikhar Dhawan picks up the winning cheque.
Suryakumar Yadav- I think I have been doing the same thing for the last two three years and the success mantra has been working for me. I would have loved to make it big in the last two games but that's how you learn and move forward. I think you have to tell Dravid and Dhawan to give a bowl (laughs). The atmosphere in the camp is very positive and looking forward for the T20 series.
Suryakumar Yadav is the Player of the Series for his consistent performances in all three matches.
Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka will have a chat bow- First of all congratulations to India for the series win. We played good cricket throughout. We set the tone for the win today. After the rain delay, the bowlers especially the young guys showed maturity. That is what I expect from the bowlers in the big stage. When you play pressure game and the players are not matured enough we will lose but it's all about the experience. It's a very big win for the fans. We have won after many years against India in home conditions. I should thank all my boys and should pass my gratitude to all the fans of Sri Lanka all across the world. I am enjoying the captaincy (laughs)
Fernando will have a translator- He says if he had done well in the second match we could have won the series. He is very happy to have been elected as the Man of the Match. After the England tour he had worked hard on his batting and he is trying to improve more. He says we have a very young side and going forward he believes he will do well with the young side.
Avishka Fernando is the Unacademy Player of the Match.
It's time for the final presentation in the ODI series with Charu Sharma.
Arya: Suryakumar Yadav again played a delightful knock but was dismissed again after getting a start. After the rain break for an hour and a half, Sri Lanka turned the screws around courtesy of sensational bowling from left-arm spinner Jayawickrama and mystery spinner Akila Dananjaya. From a comfortable position, India was bowled out for 226 in just the 42nd over. Both the spinners bagged three wickets each while Dushmantha Chameera chipped in with a couple.
Arya: Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan who the toss early on in the day and opted to bat. Along with Prithvi Shaw, the skipper looked in good touch but a strangle down the leg side brought about an end to his knock. Prithvi Shaw didn't play one of his fastest knocks but looked well assured at the crease and when Shaw times it well, it looks so pleasing to the eyes. Along with another debutant Sanju Samson he looked well set to get India to a big score but was dismissed one short of a well-deserved half-century. Sanju Samson too was dismissed on 46.
Arya: Rajapaksa's dismissal of Chetan Sakariya opened the floodgates for India. It was a sensational back of the hand slower delivery from Sakariya which accounted for Dhananjaya de Silva. Charith Asalanka batted steadily with Avishka Fernando and eased things through the middle overs. However it was Hardik Pandya's wicket of Asalanka which again gave India a glimmer of hope. Rahul Chahar who was also making his debut had a terrific game as he spun a web around the Lankan batters accounting for three wickets. He bowled tight lights and let the ball rip of the surface. His 3 crucial wickets kept India in the game but eventually it was the Lankans who prevailed with 3 wickets in hand.
Arya: The target of 227 was always going to be below par but given Sri Lanka's below-par performances in the previous outings, India still felt they had a realistic chance of inflicting a whitewash on the islanders. Openers Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka got Sri Lanka off to a steady start before Krishnappa Gowtham in his debut managed to get his wicket. However from there on it was a great partnership between Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa which laid a strong foundation for the run-chase. Both played some delightful shots en route to a partnership of 109 runs.
Arya: Sri Lanka finally managed to salvage some lost pride as they beat India by 3 wickets to make the scoreline 2-1 in favour of the visiting team. For the first time in the series, the home team managed to hold their nerves and crucial junctures and seal a hard-fought victory.

38.6 R Chahar to R Mendis
1 DONE AND DUSTED! Sri Lanka have pulled off a famous win here. Full delivery outside off stump and Mendis brings out the sweep and collects a single to deep square leg. Mendis scores the winning run here as the home team has sealed the deal here.
38.5 R Chahar to A Dananjaya
1 One run and the scores are level. Flighted ball around off and plays a slog over the bowler's head. Mistimes it as he loses one hand off the bat but it was a freehit ball.
38.5 R Chahar to A Dananjaya
4nb FOUR!!! Dananjaya makes room and smokes a boundary to get off the mark. Too full on the stumps, the batter gambles and moves across in the leg side and scores a boundary through extra cover. And it's a no-ball as well. Free-hit delivery loading...
Arjun: India still have seven runs in the bank and they need to scalp just three wickets now. The game is still on.
