Milestone
So, this will be all from us for this match. But it's a double-header Tuesday, so quickly skip onto the coverage of the next match. Until next time, this is Vikhyat Jain signing off on behalf of Anurag Singh and Arijit Kundu. Stay safe. Cheers!!
Sarfaraz Ahmed, winning captain: The pitch played a bit differently today, our bowlers bowled really well to the right-handers and this match and the win was really important for us. I'm really proud of the comeback from the boys and the fielding was good which also helped us a lot in building the pressure.
Usman Shinwari, Player of the Match: I wanted to prove when I get a chance and glad it came off today. The plan was to keep it tight and the wickets would come.
Sohail Akhtar | Losing captain: On such surfaces we have to take responsibility and bat. We have specific plans for everyone. We will try to work on the mistakes. Everyone has to take responsibility, especially the batsmen, otherwise this will be the result. There was a bit of spin but the ball was coming on nicely. Yes, momentum is key.
Vikhyat: Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals and Qalandars just couldn't build a partnership. A good single partnership would have taken them through but it was an exceptional bowling effort from the Gladiators to keep their chances of survival this year still alive.
Vikhyat: But Tim David showed some resistance and played an inspiring knock of 46 runs off just 27 balls. His stay at the crease meant that Qalandars still had an outside chance to win this game but Usman Shinwari got his wicket just at the right time. In the hindsight, it was the powerplay, that might have cost Qalandars the game.
Vikhyat: Despite a small horror late in the chase, Gladiators have capped off this game in their favor. Seamers were brilliant up front, bowled with a big heart and with some plan. Got the early breakthroughs their team needed and then later on it was the web created by the spinners in the middle overs that completely choked the Qalandars.
Finally, the Gladiators manage to win this game by 18 runs and they have managed to keep their hopes alive in this tournament. It was the bowling effort of the team that got them through this match. A magnificent effort from all the bowlers to defend the minuscule-looking target.
17.6 M Hasnain to H Rauf
W This will be it. Gladiators win. Hasnain steams in the yorker and Rauf was late onto his shot, the ball disrupts the bails
17.5 M Hasnain to H Rauf
4 FOUR!!! WELL WELL WELL!! The game is not yet over, fuller length around-off, Rauf swings with full power, gets an outside-edge to the third man region for a boundary, not where he wanted to hit it but won't mind as long as they keep coming
17.4 M Hasnain to H Rauf
6 SIXX!!! First Shaheen now Rauf, was a fuller length delivery and in the zone, Rauf clears the front leg and clobbers it down the ground over the long-on for a six
17.3 M Hasnain to J Faulkner
1 Short and in the stumps, Faulkner backs away a bit and runs it to the third man for a single
17.2 M Hasnain to H Rauf
3 Full and slanting on the pads of Rauf, the batsman clears his front leg and swings it to the mid-wicket region, runs for a couple but an overthrow will fetch them a triple
17.1 M Hasnain to H Rauf
4 FOUR!!! Full swinging into the batsman's toes, Rauf just gets enough of the bat to glance it through the fine leg region for a boundary
