That's it from the iconic MCG. It was a really fantastic game of cricket and hope you all enjoyed the action here at our network. Do join us for all the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Saurabh Saket. Stay safe and stay cool...
Aaron Finch(Australian captain): I think they outplayed us in the powerplay. Wade batted really well and that's the good positive for us. A lot of things to look forward to from this series but satisfied with the series win. The flexibility of Josh Inglis was superb at the start. Bowling was superb, especially Ashton Agar."
Dasun Shanaka (Srilanka Captain):  "Absolutely. The boys played well throughout the series. We missed a few players due to injuries and COVID, so disappointed with that, but with that, we have done well in all 5 games. Kusal was good and I am happy with his performance. Thank you to the crowds here in Melbourne and Sydney and hope to see all of you in the T20 World Cup."
Glenn Maxwell(Player of the series): "It was a really good performance from the boys throughout the series. Josh Inglis batted really well at the top throughout the series. We have played in different situations so that was good preparation for us before the world cup and yes happy to get a win here. Glad to play on home soil before the penultimate world cup."
Kusal Mendis (Player of The Match): "Yes, today was a very good game. The bowlers bowled well in all four games. Today, Asalanka and Dasun supported and played well today. Last two games, we have played well and were good to get the win." (Thanks to the crowds in Sinhalese. )
Time for the Post-Match Presentation.
That's it that's the game for the visitors. They get the first win of the tour and avoid the whitewash here at MCG. What a game of cricket this was at the iconic MCG. Sri Lanka beats Australia by 5 wickets in the 5th T20 international of the series. Australia takes away the series with a convincing margin of 4-1. Kusal Mendis remain unbeaten throughout the chase and steers his team over the winning line. Skipper Shanka also played a fine hand at the end.

Chasing 155, Sri Lanka started off pretty quickly in the first few overs as Nissanka was batting so well in the middle. But he ended up hitting the good length delivery straight down at the throat of Maxwell at mid-on. On the other end, Kusal Perera kept the scoreboard ticking. Mishara on debut came in at number 3. But unfortunately, he got out while returning for the nonexisting double. Charith Asalanka in at number 4 looked mighty impressive for his 20 from 9 balls but he played a silly shot as he tried to scoop one of the Bowling of Agar and finds his leg stump uprooted.

Another debutant Janith Liyanage unfortunately got out because of miscommunication in the middle and lost his wicket on the score of 8. Kusal Perera was involved in both the run-outs of debutants. Skipper Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Perera stitched a match-winning partnership to get their team home and eventually picked up their first win of the tour. Dasun Shanaka scored important 35 runs off 31 balls at the end and kept the pressure off from the set batter Kusal Mendis. Karunaratne came and scored a penultimate run on the second last ball of the innings.

Ashton Agar was brilliant with the ball as usual as he picked up a wicket of Asalanka and gave away only 19 runs in his 4 overs. Adam Zampa was quite expensive today. All and all great cricket in this series and the home team will walk away with the trophy. Stay tuned for the presentations...
19.5 D Sams to C Karunaratne
1 That's in the air and will plug in the gap into the midwicket region and they will jog the single as Srilanka gets one back to make it 1-4 in the series. Sams bowls it shorter here, Chamika pulls it in the air and in the gap since the field was in. It was a consolation but a good win for the Lankans.  A win by 5 wickets with a ball to spare for the visitors.
Kane Richardson goes off with a hamstring injury. Kusal is struggling as well with a hammy.

19.4 K Richardson to D Shanaka
1 He goes for the lap sweep and gets bowled here.  The drama here at the MCG. He goes for the sweep and plays it on back onto the stumps. 1 needed off 2 balls now. It's all happening here as Chamika comes to the crease.
19.3 K Richardson to D Shanaka
6 SIX!  A short ball into the pitch, Shanaka goes bang over midwicket and cow corner as the ball sails over the fence. Goes for the bouncer and pays for it, That should be the game. 1 needed off 3 balls.
19.2 K Richardson to D Shanaka
2 Fuller length yorker, Shanaka flicks it in the air and in the gap over Stoinis and they get a brace here. They could have got three runs, but Mendis is struggling to run between the wickets. 7 needed off 4 balls now.
19.1 K Richardson to D Shanaka
0 Kane Richardson will bowl the final over. Good length delivery outside off, Shanaka tries to whip that and misses it through to the keeper.
