Thank you so much for sticking to the live coverage from onecricket and cricket exchange. I hope you enjoyed the coverage from us. It's time to bid adieu, signing off- Arijit Kundu, alongside fellow commentators- Akshaya Krishna Polya and Ninad Dixit, and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for many more actions coming your way.
Scott Boland: "Not really figured out . Yeah I found it on Christmas eve, got some support from friends and family. This is a big step up, from anything I've played before. I thank the crowd so much for the support and appreciate it. A couple of years ago to commemorate the tour from 1978 and my family will be very proud, and I am very proud to get this  award. I would also like to thank for the support of my wife and the kids back at home."
Pat Cummins: "Its been an unreal time. Insane last few weeks, everything clicked and worked out in the right direction. The bowlers did well and bowled brilliantly in the off stump channel. The batters have left well and have been brave to put away the loose deliveries. Neser was quite disappointed to miss out on this game, he did pretty well in the second Test. We have lots of good players on the fringe and we know that everyone will do well whenever they get the chance as Scotty came in and picked up six wickets in what four overs and the next two Tests are a good opportunity to do well and cement our identity as a team."
Joe Root: "We almost had to deal with these kind of environment in the last couple of days. Australia really played well and congratulations for some great display of cricket. The batting was put under pressure during the whole trip. We need to be more lightened up for some moments like this. We just gotta do things for longer. It's been in just small pockets. We have to do a lot better in some areas. We know what the areas are. and we shall take it as an opportunity to be better i the next two tests."
Scott Boland(after the match): "I thought we had a very good chance of winning but never though things would be so quick. The crowds support me so much from day-1 and can't thank them enough."
Arijit: And there you go, the last one rolls through and Anderson's timbers are blown away.
What a moment for the Aussies as they retain the urn with a 3-0 lead after the 3rd test of Ashes. The boxing day belongs to the Aussies this year and Scott Boland is the one to be credited for. What a spell from the 32-year-old bloke, who ripped through the backbone of the lower middle order of England and kickstarted his test career in a dream style. Scott Boland becomes the 34th Australian to get a five-wicket haul in debut and finishes with figures of 4-1-7-6.

It did seem like the home side was in a hurry to catch a flight and ran through the English batting lineup in a space of less than an hour of play. It must be a disappointing end for Joe Root and his men as none of the batters seem to be resilient enough to withstand against the Aussie attack.

England ended day-2 of the test for 31-4, trailing by some more 51 runs. Who knew that this batting side heavy on some great white ball cricketers, would end up 14 runs short of 82 runs, the benchmark. Stokes was the first one to depart today after Mitchell Starc got the better of him as the former chopped the cork down at the timbers. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were looking to rebuild the castle, could glue a 1 4 runs partnership and stick together for just 6 overs.
The superstar of the indigenous society of Australia came back for a spell and took the lower middle order of England at the backseat. It was Jonny Bairstow to be dismissed first, and Joe Root followed the same path soon. The tail was done soon as Boland took the outside edge of almost every one of them, barring Mark Wood who ended up looping a straighter delivery back at Scott Boland for a caught and bowled dismissal. Cam Green finished things off by castling the timbers of James Anderson, and Jos Buttler, once again the lone warrior stood at the other end to see his fellow mates do the long walk through the stairs into the change room.

Australia win the match by 14 runs and an innings. A lot of things to work on for the English test team. Getting bowled at 68 while trailing 82 runs is not the kind of performance one would be happy with. But Australia, on the flip side, continues their dominance in the home conditions and newly appointed skipper, Patt Cummins gets to feel the ashes urn for the first time as a captain.
27.4 C Green to J Anderson
W Wickett!! Australia retain the Ashes. They win by an innings and 14 runs. Fuller and straighter from Green. Anderson misses it as he plays inside the line. It hits the off peg. It's 3-0 now. Green gets his first wicket. Cummins's first series as Australian captain and he retains the Ashes.
27.3 C Green to J Buttler
1 Full length ball on off, guides it to covers for a single. Anderson is on the strike now. Deficit is 14 now.
27.2 C Green to J Buttler
0 A rare loose delivery down the leg. It was short, Buttler tries to help it down the leg but misses it. Carey dives to his left and takes it.
27.1 C Green to J Buttler
0 Good length delivery just on the channel, Buttler tries to play at it but beats him handsomely.

26.3 S Boland to Robinson
W Wickett!! Boland is on fire. What's happening in the MCG?  Boland has six-fer. Fuller delivery just outside off, Robinson tries to defend it but gets the outside edge to the third slip. Robinson goes for a duck. Boland's figure reads 3.3-1-5-6. Just Wow. Australia are on a brink of a memorable Ashes victory.
