Timm van der Gugten gets the Player of the Match award.
Simi Singh took the charge and McBrine was playing the second fiddle until the 46th over when Seelaar came onto the crease to bowl his 9th over and scalped two wickets in quick succession which left the Irish batsman bamboozled. With 18 runs required and 4 wickets in hand, the game was completely done and dusted until Seelaar took two quick wickets and another one fell on the first delivery of the 50th over and Ireland lost complete control of the match. The wicket of Simi Singh meant it was all over for the Irish team but Little ramped up a boundary to bring the equation to 5 off 3. There was drama in the final over but the Dutch held their nerve to get across the line by the barest of margins. Ireland will be kicking themselves, they've just squandered a golden chance to pocket 10 Super League points.
Ireland opened up the innings with two experienced candidates, Paul Stirling and William Porterfield. With 196 looking like a cakewalk for the Irish batsman, Logan Van Beek picked up two quick wickets and the top-order was sent back to the pavilion. Brandon Glover brought into the attack and he scalped the massive wicket of Glover and suddenly Ireland were tattering on 43/4 in the 14th over. Following the fifth wicket which fell on 69, Stirling took complete control and started picking up singles and doubles with the odd boundary on the occasion. He brought up his first fifty in 2021 along with three tons to his name. Stirling along with Simi Singh took the bowlers on and they gradually moved closer to the target until Timm Van der Gugten struck with a wicket in his second spell. Stirling fell prey to a freebie and the Dutch skipper at extra cover took a blinder to dismiss the well-set Irish. Simi Singh along with McBrine had the task to see their team through as only 60 were required off the last 13 overs.
Ireland’s bowling was pretty impressive as the death specialist, Joshua Little picked up three wickets in quick time. Young did his part as he also scalped three wickets. All in all decent performance by the Irish bowlers and fielders. They bundled out the Dutch batting lineup on 195.
Netherlands won the toss and didn’t hesitate in batting first on this flat pitch with the sun shining. Netherlands was certainly pleased with the recovery, given that they were in a hole at 53/5 at one stage, gasping for survival. Zulfiqar and de Leede did a repair job of sorts thereafter with a half-century stand but both threw their wickets away and all of a sudden it looked like the Dutch would be all-out under 130-140. At that point, even 150 seemed a distant dream but van Beek and van der Gugten produced a miracle as they somehow managed to put up a fighting total of 195 on the board.
What a nail-biting finish to win the game. A massive moment for the Netherlands and they have defeated Ireland after 14 long years. Final over drama here at Utrecht, Van Beek pulls off the goods and bowls an excellent last over to pull off a miracle. The series 1-0 to Netherlands and they will be oozing in confidence going into the next match. A good show of character from the Dutch players especially the skipper who turned the game on it's head in the 47th over.
49.6 Beek to J Little
1b Oh no no no !! You can't do that always Joshua Little!! Slower yorker outside the off stump, the batsman shuffles across to play the ramp again but misses it completely. Takes a single and flees in despair. Netherland wins the match by just one run. No reason to try fancy around when the fine leg is at the ropes.
Anurag Singh: 3 to win and 2 for a super over.
49.5 Beek to C Young
1 Another single , timed to deep point for a single. slower one out of the off stump and the batsman pushes it to deep point.
49.4 Beek to J Little
1 A fuller one , aiming the woods, the batsman makes room and gets away wth a single on the off side.
Anurag Singh: Joshua Little, you beauty. Brilliant with the bowl today and can he pull off a short cameo for his side to take them to a victory.
49.3 Beek to J Little
4 oh ho ho ho!! Shuffles across and gets away with a boundary flying towards the fine leg. This is turning out to be a massacre of events. The batsman does some prejudging and gets away cleverly.
49.2 Beek to C Young
1 Fuller on the legs and the batsman drives it straight to long on for a single.

Run-out check: OMG!! The bat is up in the air as he is halfway in the crease, the bat just bouncing up and it has given been out by the third umpire.
49.1 Beek to S Singh
W Slower one on the length and the batsman smashes it through long leg and tries to steal a couple. The batsman makes a great dive to complete a double but gets run out on the occasion. The 3rd umpire is referred and its clearly observable that Simi Singh's bat was in the air despite making the ground.
49.1 Beek to S Singh
WD back of a length , slower delivery and the batsman shuffles across to work out a ramp but misses it completely. That's a wide called as the ball flees past the leg stump.
