Catch us live on the next on tomorrow as we bring you the mouth watering clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajastan Royals live from 6:30 pm.
So, that is from our side from tonight's double header. This is me Kingshuk Kusari thanking you from the behalf of Akshay Bhide and Sourya Chowdhury for staying with us in this scintilating encounter.
Eoin Morgan, KKR skipper: It's quite high at the moment [how's the pulse?] One hell of a game. Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik put a partnership together and following that Pat Cummins gave us every chance towards the end. Tremendous fight from the middle and lower order. You ride the emotions throughout the day. The first five overs of batting didn't go our way. We didn't play as well as we would've liked. We can be happy with [how we adapted to a] new ground, different challenges. Going back to it, I don't think there was any margin for error for the bowlers. We need to be kinder to the bowlers. You really need to be on the money. I tend to stay away from Dre after he gets out [laughs]. It's great he's in this sort of form. Disappointing that the rest of us couldn't help him out.
Deepak Chahar: I'm just trying to bowl straight balls. The ball was swinging and seaming [early on]. I didn't pick a lot of wickets last year, but then I realised when I'm bowling I have more responsibility to set the tone in the powerplay. I think the dew came in and the ball was coming nicely onto the bat. We bowled some poor balls as well. Good batting as well. So it was difficult to bowl with wet ball. Sam was bowling cutters, but it came nicely onto the bat. I can't tell about others but I was thinking we shouldn't lose the match. At one point, they needed 40 off 20 balls, which was gettable. You learn a lot of things from this match. It was a great match.
The CSK outfit who persisted with Gaikwad despite few poor outings finally got their cal right as the youngster made everyone forget his struggles and remember his heroics from the previous season. The opening partnership set the tone perfectly for the Yellow brigade as the duo shared a 115 runs stand for the opening wicket. Moeen Ali blazed his way to a knock of 25 of a mere 12 deliveries while everyone got reminded what MS Dhoni can do. He smashed a six during his 8 ball 17 which gave the much-needed momentum to CSK. Du Plessis gor himself in a position to score a century but in the end he fell short by just 5 runs, remaining unbeaten on 95 0f 60 deliveries which included 9 fours and 4 sixes.
Earlier in the day it was the KKR skipper Eoin Morgan who won the toss and opted to field. Given the past expereinces at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai it was a definite call from the Irish born. Right from the word go it was Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis who took the game away from the Purple and Gold brigade with a sensational attacking display of batsmanship.
Andre Russell smashed his way to a breezy half-century and was ably supported by the former skipper Dinesh Karthik. Karthik also played some delightful shots in the process but after his dimissal it was a miraculous effort from the Million Dollar baby Pat Cummins to get KKR back into the game. He smashed Sam Curran for 30 runs in the 16th over which included 4 sixes and a four.
The chase of 221 was always going to be a tough ask for the KKR as they put themselves in a position where there was no looking back. However Andre Russell had other ideas as he smashed an incredible 22 balls 54 which got KKR back into the game from a hopeless situation. KKR kept losing wickets on regular intervals in the first half of the match and was five down by the end of the powerplay.
So that's it then. A late charge by Pat Cummins was not enough to cover KKr's mistakes in the first innings as they get defeated by table toppers CSK by 18 runs. The game should have been over long ago but somehow Kolkata Knight Riders managed to claw their way back into the game courtesy some sublime hitting by Andre Russell and Pat Cummins.
Akshay: I have to say this was poor from Prasidh. He didn't leave the crease while the delivery was bowled. You as a non-striker have to be ready to get back for the second. What were you doing protecting the crease at the non-striker's end?
A referral for Run Out. Prasidh is not even in the frame. OUT it is and CSK win the game.
19.1 Shardul Thakur to Pat Cummins
W Lovely yorker from Thakur and Cummins is able to dig it out. He wants two and I think CSK have got it. The umpire sends the decision upstairs and it looks like Krishna is out by a mile. What an anticlimactic end to a breathtaking game. Prasidh Krishna fails to storm out of his crease which results in a run out and that will be the end for KKR.
Sourya: So this dramatic game enters the last over, fittingly.

18.6 Sam Curran to Prasidh Krishna
0 Krishna digs the yorker out, maintains shape and lets Cummins get the final 6 balls. 20 from 6 now for Cummins. Can Cummins rise up from the ashes after a poor outing with the ball? Or is it Thakur who will prevail despite a horrid outing.
18.5 Sam Curran to Pat Cummins
1lb Pitched up on the pads and Cummins fails to connect the ball. That should have been sent into the stands but it is harsh to ask that off a part time batsman really. Krishna needs to survive a ball. Can he give KKR a chance?
18.4 Sam Curran to Pat Cummins
0 Straight to long on against a pitched up ball. Cummins fails to get under this one. One bounce to long on and another single is denied.
