That's all from the commentary box folks. Catch us tomorrow for the high-voltage of day. Till then it's ta-ta and good night from me, Arjun Bhalla and my co-commentators Karthik Raj and Akshay Bhide.
Amit Mishra, Player of the Match: Just tried to bowl good areas, just try to take wickets. Different bowlers have different style. My style is to bowl in the air. Don't want to change much. Sometimes the speed maybe. I try to understand the wicket and bowl like that. THey are winners for MI and so I always go for wickets against these guys initially. I was worried but I knew our batters are smart enough. They have some experience now after playing two matches here.
Amit Mishra bags the Man of the Match award.
Rishabh Pant: When we started we were little under pressure. Mishy bhai got us into the game. Bowlers did a great job to restrict them to 136. We like to talk it into the ground, take one match at a time. He's a great Indian player we're trying to groom (Lalit Yadav). Can do wonders on pitches like these. What we've learnt is if you keep wickets in hand you can chase any target.
Amit Mishra is the Upstox Most Valuable Asset of the Match. Bags a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Marcus Stoinis is the Cred Powerplayer of the Match. Bagged 2/12 in his 3 overs spell in the powerplay.
Rohit Sharma bags the Unacademy Let's Crack it Sixes Award. Gets a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Amit Mishra is the Dream11 Game Changer of the Match. Gets a trophy and cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Suryakumar Yadav gets the Safari Super Striker of the Match Award. Bags a trophy and cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Krunal Pandya gets the Vivo Perfect Catch of the Match. Bags a Vivo phone and a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh.
Its time for the Post-Match Presentation ceremony with Murali Kartik.
Shikhar Dhawan - Orange cap holder - Totally opposite to Wankhede, feeling great to win in Chennai, feels good when you can beat a team like Mumbai Indians, the confidence level will naturally go high. We knew that it would be tough for them when the ball gets wet, the spinners would find it hard, wanted to keep the partnerships going, strung together a good stand with Lalit (Yadav), a bit disappointed at not having finished it off. But glad that we ended up winning the game, the way we played, I think we deserved to win.
Rohit Sharma: After the start we got we should have batted better in the middle overs. It is happening time and again. We aren't able to capitalize on our starts and we need to understand as a batting unit. But you have to give credit to the Delhi bowlers, they kept it tight and kept taking wickets. We knew dew would come in but we have seen that it's not all that difficult to grip the ball in the last few games. Dew isn't the factor, we need to play smart cricket to win games which we didn't do today. [On his injury] It's only a niggle. It should be fine.
Arjun: Earlier in the day, Rohit Sharma won the toss for Mumbai and opted to bat first. He started off the things with some fashion, however, Amit Mishra spun a web against the Mumbai batting and finished his spell with four wickets. No MI batter apart from the skipper could contribute and they finished on a mere total of 137 runs.
Arjun: Although, Lalit wasn’t in the mood to give easy points to the opposition. He started the counter-attack when his side was down but lost the skipper soon. Nevertheless, Shimron Heytmer became his ally in crime and ended the game with some ease.
Arjun: The pair of Dhawan-Smith did what the doctor ordered for DC and stitched a 53-run stand. As the pair were looking lethal, Pollard broke the partnership with a nip-backer to end Smith’s innings. Then came Lalit Yadav to join hands with the southpaw and tailored some runs, before Dhawan got bored and decided to gift his wicket to Chahar.
Arjun: Delhi Capitals had a low total to chase but the edition has showcased, every total is tricky on this Chennai pitch. The Delhi Brigade started the innings with some luck as Dhawan got lucky on a debatable catch but they lost Shaw in the very next over. However, Smith came out at number 3 to provide the much-required steadiness.
The game ends with a NO BALL! Delhi Capitals have won this game by six wickets.
19.2 Kieron Pollard to Shimron Hetmyer
NB Big no-ball from Keiron Pollard, Hetmyer lobs up a catch to mid-on but it doesn't matter. Delhi Capitals wrap up a six-wicket victory
Akshay: That's a poor ball from Pollard. Not the ball you will be bowling when you have 5 runs to defend.
