That's it from the commentary box folks. What a sensational match it was. Till the next time tata and babye from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentators Kingshuk Kusari and Arjun Bhalla.
Irfan Pathan gets the Cracking Player of the Match Award.
Kevin Pietersen, England Captain and Man of the Match: It's always a nice feeling to win a game. Its an absolute pleasure batting in India. These are pure wickets. The fans were off provided with a great match between two good teams. It was brilliant, the noise was going and the juices were boiling when Gony and Irfan was hitting those big sixes. Tremlett asked me if he could bowl the 19th over and I said you have to bowl. The groundsmen is doing such a great job.
Sachin Tendulkar, India Captain: It was incredible hitting towards the end but it was the first few overs which cost us the game. The innings from Irfan against Sri Lanka last year was a special one and this is one more gem from him. It looked as if KP has never left the game, The shots were coming out of the blade perfectly. However much you plan in this format it sometimes doesn't work. I mean Viru has been scoring runs for us in the last few matches. We have had decent partnerships and here also. We needed this today also but its nice to see the lower end of the batting line-up contribute. I won't say tail-enders as I have to go back to the dressing room (in a light hearted manner)>
Arya: It was a big opportunity for the Raipur crowd to witness Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag with a big target to chase. However, there was some deathly silence in the ground after three wickets fell in quick succession for India. Sachin Tendulkar struck a couple of beautiful shots but was deceived by Monty Panesar in the flight as India lost their third wicket after losing Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif in quick time. It looked it would be a mountain too steep to climb and a couple of more wickets justified the thought unless there was a sensational partnership between Irfan Pathan and MS Gony. Both turned the match on it's head and started smoking sixes for fun. One of Gony's sixes travelled 102 metres as the Indians stormed their way back in the match. However the score for England proved to be just enough for England as they completed a 6 runs victory.
Arya: Earlier in the evening it was India Legends skipper Sachin Tendulkar who won the toss and opted to field. It was Kevin Pietersen who got England off to a rollicking start and rolled back the years. He took a liking to all the Indian bowlers especially Yuvraj Singh against whom he had several duels in the past. It was carnage on display and the Raipur crowd was treated to some electrifying strokeplay all through the day. Pietersen raced his way to a knock of 75 of 37 deliveries and England was running away with the bat at that point in time. In the final few deliveries, it was Chris Tremlett who smashed some lusty blows en route to his unbeaten 12 of just 4 deliveries as England finished on 188 in their allotted 20 overs.
Arya: Some breathtaking cricket was witnessed at Raipur today as both India and the England Legends played an exceptional brand of cricket but in the end, it was the England Legends who held their nerve and managed to seal a 6 runs victory to win their second match of the competition. Despite faltering at the halfway stage while chasing a big target of 189, it was some exceptional hitting from Irfan Pathan and Manpreet Gony which got India close but the target was way too much in the end as they fell just short by 6 runs
A run too many for India at the end, but what an amazing fightback this has been from the under radar stars like Manpreet Gony. Unbelievable innings from both Irfan Pathan and Gony. Exceptional game of cricket this for such a lovely cause. The Road Safety series has really turned back the clocks.

19.6 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Manpreet Singh Gony
1 Back of length delivery and Gony drags the ball and then drills it down to deep mid-wicket area for a single. What a chase it has been and in the end, the Indian Legends just fall short of six runs, courtesy of the Gony-Irfan show!!!
19.5 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Manpreet Singh Gony
0 Good length delivery outside off and it angles away from Gony to miss his long swing. Dot
Low full toss, tough ask for Pathan to deposit that one. The 43-year-old side bottom did not sign up for this I am sure. Gony chants across the stadium now. Can he take a big one in the next ball? Can he get India to across the line?
19.4 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Irfan Pathan
1 Low full toss and Irfan drills it to long-on to take a single. They need 8 more runs in the last two balls and Gony will be on strike.
9 of three now. The game is set, the finish is close and this will be tough on people with a faint heart. Hang on there, just hang on a bit more.
19.3 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Irfan Pathan
6 Full toss delivery and Irfan waits for the ball and deposits it over deep square leg fielder for a MAXIMUM. What a finish this is turning out to be.
Is that a no ball? The leg umpire decides that no, it is not. A fair delivery called by the umpire.
19.2 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Irfan Pathan
2 Beamer at the off stump line and Irfan chips it in the night sky towards the fine leg area and it falls safe. They sneak a brace.
19.1 Ryan Jay Sidebottom to Irfan Pathan
2 Full toss on the off stump and Irfan sweeps it to fine leg area to collect a brace! Now they need 17 more runs
