Okay then, it was a fun day with a lot of cricketing action, but it's time to bid adieu. This was me, Arjun Bhalla with my partners in crime, i.e. Anurag Dasgupta (DG), Anurag Singh and Akshay Bhide from the comm box. Do join us tomorrow, as we have all the matches lined up for you. Till then, good night and take care!
Chris Benjamin - I wanted to take the team over the line. Very excited when I got the call-up last week, it was incredible to get an opportunity and then to get a chance and take the team over the line was incredible. I just wanted to play myself in and then take on the bowler. 'Keep dreaming, keep working hard', is my message to the youngsters. Fortunately one or two shots came off and we got over the line. Youngsters, keep dreaming big and keep working hard, that's the big thing. You'll face some difficult times and disappointments but hard work wins at the end.
Zak Crawley | Hero of the Match: It was nice to score runs. I am pleased with how I played. It wasn't easy to start and we didn't get as many as we should've in the back-end. It was lovely playing in front of the crowd. All are bowlers bowled really well but their batters applied themselves well. I try and enjoy every game.
Zak Crawley gets the Hero of the Match award.
Arjun: As it was looking, Spirit had sealed the deal, Chris Benjamin turned the whole story around. The rookie clobbered two maximum against Cullen in the third last set, and suddenly, it became Birmingham’s game to lose. The batting duo of Benj and Cooke pinched a couple more boundaries in the next set, before Milne smoked the winning four as the home team chased down the total with three balls remaining.
Arjun: Wood turned the volume up of the crowd when he took a running catch of the hard-hitting Liam off the bowling of Cullen. Morgan and his mastermind scripted the next chapter, tonight. London’s skipper brought in Nabi to stop the flow of runs, the spinner took a complementary wicket in his misery spell. While the Dutch van der Merwe and Cullen took two wickets in a quick span.
Arjun: Chris Wood used the conditions upfront well as he swung it past the outside edge, a couple of times, before getting Hammond caught by the keeper. Then Amir annihilated Allen’s leg stump with pace. The game was evenly poised as Phoenix had the man in form Livingstone and their skipper Mo in the middle, while the visiting derby had runs in bank.
Arjun: A line-up studded with the likes of Livingstone, Mo Ali, and Finn Allen had a target of 144 runs, which was touted to cakewalk on this Edgbaston pitch. The deck had a couple of tricks on play in the chase as well, the game shifted a couple of times but in the end Mo Ali's men sealed the deal, as a rookie named Chris Benjamin became the star here.
A last set win for Birmingham Phoenix by three wickets, as Milne hits the winning boundary to take his side over the line.
97b M Amir to A Milne
4 Four! What a cracking way to end the over! Birmingham Phoenix are victorious here! Banged in short on the stumps. Milne pulls it viciously towards the deep square region to end the game with a boundary...
96b M Amir to C Cooke
W Up in the air and gone!! Bopara takes the catch and is there a twist in the tale? Fires in a quicker length delivery on the stumps. Cooke goes for the heave on the leg side and miscues the shot as he connects it from the splice and gets a top-edge. Bopara at mid off settles under the ball and takes a comfortable catch.

95b C Wood to C Benjamin
1 Fuller on the pads. Benjamin clips it down to deep square to take a single. Scores are level now!
94b C Wood to C Benjamin
4 Four! That should be the final nail in the coffin. Pitches it fuller outside the off. It was right in the slot for Benjamin who drills it down the ground and beats the diving fielder at long off for a boundary....
Mandatory concussion check going on at the moment after Cooke gets hit on the helmet.
93b C Wood to C Cooke
1lb A well directed bumper on the stumps. Cooke misses out on his attempted pull and gets grilled on the helmet. The physio is out for a mandatory concussion check..
That's surely game over for the Spirits.
