Well, that's all for the coverage of this game. As usual it was a pleasure bringing you the live updates of this thrilling encounter. Till the next time, it's a ta-ta and a goodnight from me, Anurag Dasgupta and my co-commentators, Anurag Singh and Arjun Bhalla.
Lewis Gregory | Player of the Match: It was a case of taking it deep (in the batting) with Carse. We did that although Probably I got out at the wrong time. It nibbled a bit all day, especially with the new ball. I thought if we could pitch it up, we could get wickets. Saqi (Mahmood) has been outstanding for us.
Ben Stokes | England captain: The way we came out and showed that intent with the bat set us up for that tricky period in the middle where we lost wickets. The pleasing thing is that even the inexperienced men are taking the attacking option and that speaks volumes of the culture we've created over the last four or five years. We got early wickets with the ball and that always helps in defending scores. We were confident of our batting depth, Lewis and Carse are capable batters, they did really well. The new guys coming up have put up some really amazing performances amidst all the chaos that happened leading up to the series. We have won the series but nothing better than completing it with a win.
Babar Azam | Pakistan captain: I thought we bowled well at the start but couldn't sustain it for longer periods and that's where it cost us. With the bat, we couldn't do well in the first 10 overs and there weren't any partnerships as such. We lost too many wickets early and it was hard to come back after that. Hopefully we can sort things out before the next game. The way Hasan bowled and Shakeel batted, these are good positives for us. Focus is to do well in the next game because there are still Super League points on offer.
Time for the presentation ceremony
DG: Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Pakistan had a dream start to the game, scalping both Dawid Malan and Zack Crawley for a duck. James Vince joined hands with Phil Salt and the duo started to bludgeon the opposition attack. It was raining fours at Lords as the duo were finding gaps at will. Babar then played his trump card and introduced the spinners from both ends. Both Shadab Khan and Saud Shakeel tighten the screws and picked up 3 wickets in quick succession. However, Lewis Gregory and Brydon Carse played a great mature innings and helped their side cross the 240-run mark, which was enough in the end to defend.
DG: Shakeel was the lone warrior in the middle who lost partners at regular intervals. For a brief moment, Hasan Ali took the pressure off Shakeel and played a great cameo to entertain the crowd. But the target was too big for them as the pressure got better of them and the Pakistan side crumbled yet again to lose by 52 runs in the end. Gregory took 3 wickets and was amply supported by Saqib Mahmood who picked up 2 wickets with the new ball to rattle the Pakistani top-order.
DG: Chasing a stiff target of 248, Pakistan got off to a disastrous start, losing Imam-ul-Haq early in the innings. The man with the golden arm, Saqib Mahmood got rid of both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in quick succession to deflate the visitors. The chase never really took off as Fakhar Zaman struggled at one end and failed to get going after the bowling attack. There was a little juice in the pitch and all four England seamers utilised the conditions to their advantage.
DG: DONE AND DUSTED! That's the end of the match and England have won by 52 runs. With the victory here, England have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. It was a relatively one-sided affair as the hosts outplayed the visitors in all three departments of the game.
40.6 L Gregory to H Rauf
W OUT!!! And with that wicket, it's the end of the second innings. England win this comfortably. Simpson takes another blinder to get rid of Rauf. Length delivery drifting down the leg, Rauf swivels and tries to slog this but gets a glove on it. Simpson moves towards his left and takes a stunner.
